What you'll do
- Manage the recruitment process from job posting to onboarding new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions that attract top talent.
- Conduct interviews and facilitate selection processes, providing guidance to hiring managers on best practices.
- Develop and implement employee training programs that enhance skills and promote professional development.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and workplace issues, fostering open communication.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, minimizing legal risks.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support managers in addressing performance-related issues through coaching and feedback.
- Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace morale and retention.
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
- Analyze HR metrics and prepare reports for management to inform decision-making and strategy development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in the energy or related industry.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws at the federal and state levels.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong analytical skills to interpret data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Professional certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
- Experience with employee engagement tools and performance management systems.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Knowledge of diversity and inclusion initiatives and best practices.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is advantageous.
