What you'll do

Manage the recruitment process from job posting to onboarding new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions that attract top talent.
Conduct interviews and facilitate selection processes, providing guidance to hiring managers on best practices.
Develop and implement employee training programs that enhance skills and promote professional development.
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and workplace issues, fostering open communication.
Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, minimizing legal risks.
Conduct performance evaluations and support managers in addressing performance-related issues through coaching and feedback.
Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace morale and retention.
Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
Analyze HR metrics and prepare reports for management to inform decision-making and strategy development.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in the energy or related industry.
Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws at the federal and state levels.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong analytical skills to interpret data.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

Professional certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
Experience with employee engagement tools and performance management systems.
Familiarity with payroll processing and benefits administration.
Knowledge of diversity and inclusion initiatives and best practices.
Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is advantageous.

Skills & tools

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in HR information systems (HRIS) is essential, along with a solid understanding of data analysis techniques to support HR decision-making. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills will be beneficial in addressing employee concerns and fostering a collaborative work environment.
