What you'll do
- Design and analyze mechanical components and systems using advanced engineering software tools, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical systems with electronic components, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the viability of new designs and modifications to existing products.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all engineering projects, including specifications, design calculations, and test plans.
- Perform testing and validation of prototypes to ensure they meet performance criteria and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the development and production phases, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Participate in project planning meetings, providing technical insights and updates on project progress to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering, applying new knowledge to improve processes and products.
- Support the manufacturing team by providing technical guidance and resolving production-related challenges.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and timelines, ensuring that engineering tasks are completed within scope and schedule.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and design.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with simulation tools for stress analysis and thermal management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of automation and robotics in manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
