What you'll do

• Design and develop control systems for automated machinery and processes, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to integrate control systems into larger systems.
• Conduct system testing and validation to ensure functionality and performance meet established criteria.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems, providing timely support to minimize downtime.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for control systems, including design specifications, testing protocols, and user manuals.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in control technologies, incorporating best practices into your work.
• Participate in project planning and scheduling, providing input on timelines and resource allocation for control system development.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, sharing your expertise and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Assist in the development of training programs for end-users to ensure effective operation of control systems.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that could enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of control systems.
• Support the implementation of safety standards and protocols in all control system designs and operations.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that align with their operational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering or a similar role, with a strong focus on automation systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, ladder logic, and structured text.
• Experience with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design and implementation.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex control systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to control systems and automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and software.
• Familiarity with robotics and motion control systems.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Certification in relevant control systems technologies or methodologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles as they relate to industrial control systems.

• Proficient in control system design software and simulation tools.
