Enterprise Context Architect

About the role

This role sits at the intersection of knowledge, action, and trust. You will define how enterprise content becomes AI capability. As models evolve from assistants to actors, the way knowledge is structured, governed, and accessed determines whether AI delivers value or risk. You will translate fluid technology trends into stable standards that keep knowledge reliable, current, and safe. Your work will directly shape how AI performs across Dropbox.

The position is remote within select Canadian locations. It is a full-time role with a compensation target of $180,000 per year.

What You Will Do

You will establish the strategic foundation for enterprise knowledge in an AI era. This involves defining which systems hold authoritative data, determining what is indexed centrally versus fetched in real time, and clarifying what is safe for AI consumption. You will set boundaries between archival content and active knowledge, always informed by an understanding of authoritative sources in core workflows.

You will translate these choices into enterprise standards for structure, metadata, provenance, and access. These standards become practical patterns that content creators follow across domains. Where semantic models or knowledge graphs add value, you will specify their use; where simpler approaches suffice, you will make that call clear.

You will design the framework that governs AI behavior when it interacts with knowledge. This framework must specify eligibility, required conditions, approval checkpoints, escalation paths, and rollback options. It must ensure that actions taken by AI remain traceable, auditable, and aligned with enterprise policy as models advance.

You will lead the platform and connector strategy across the content stack. This includes decisions about refactoring, migration, in-place indexing, and consolidation. You will collaborate with IT and Engineering on connector design and define how AI systems are granted access to tools and data sources.

You will build a federated model for content stewardship. Each domain owns the accuracy of its content within shared standards and lifecycle policies. These policies cover review frequency, expiration triggers, material changes, and retirement, tied to the business criticality of each asset.

You will define quality in an AI context. You will stand up evaluations for retrieval and grounding, extend measurement to workflow traces and policy adherence, and feed findings back into the content lifecycle. You will guide intake, build, review, and deployment workflows so knowledge remains current, traceable, and permissions-aware.

As AI capability shifts, you will shift with it. You will monitor changes in model interpretation, retrieval needs, and safe action boundaries. You will update standards and revise past decisions when new tools and workflows demand it.

Role Requirements

You will define authoritative sources and translate them into eligibility rules for AI use. You will align these rules with real enterprise workflows to ensure relevance and safety.

You will create standards that make content AI-ready. This includes structure, metadata, provenance, and access rules, clearly documented and consistently applied.

You will design control models that keep AI actions traceable and safe. These models must accommodate evolving capabilities without compromising governance.

You will partner closely with IT, Engineering, Legal, Privacy, and Security. Together, you will make platform and connector decisions that shape the enterprise content ecosystem.

You will establish a federated content stewardship model. This model balances domain ownership with shared standards, supported by clear lifecycle policies.

You will set up evaluation methods for retrieval, grounding, workflow execution, and policy conformance. These evaluations will continuously inform improvements to knowledge and systems.
