This role owns the protection of the native landscape, ensuring that every footpath and viewpoint remains pristine for guests and wildlife. You will act as the eyes and ears of the property, greeting visitors with a calm, knowledgeable presence that reflects the resort's commitment to authentic hospitality. You will collaborate closely with resort staff to integrate outdoor safety, conservation practices, and guest assistance into a seamless daily experience. This position owns the responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the natural environment while making every visitor feel welcome and informed. You will help translate the vision of Sand Valley into tangible moments of wonder for each person who walks the dunes. Your work will support the resort's mission of creating experiences of a lifetime by preserving the raw beauty and serenity of the Wisconsin Wilderness. What you'll do

Conduct proactive patrols of the Dreamgolf property to monitor trail conditions, wildlife activity, and guest behavior in outdoor areas.

Perform meticulous inspections of dunes, pathways, and facilities to identify maintenance needs or potential safety hazards before they affect visitors.

Guide guests with informative tours that highlight the ecological significance of the sand dunes and the history of the resort's design.

Coordinate with resort operations to manage trail signage, temporary closures, and visitor flow in a manner that protects sensitive dune ecosystems.

Implement conservation practices that preserve native vegetation, control erosion, and safeguard the water features that define the Sand Valley landscape.

Utilize digital tools and paper logs to document observations, maintenance tasks, and guest interactions with accuracy and attention to detail.

Support event setups and special programs by preparing outdoor spaces, checking equipment, and ensuring compliance with resort safety standards.

Engage with guests to provide wayfinding assistance, answer questions about local flora and fauna, and promote responsible outdoor recreation.

Partner with cross-functional teams to respond to changing weather conditions, ensuring that trails and viewing areas remain safe and accessible.

Serve as a resource for fellow team members by sharing insights gained from on-the-ground experience and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain a visible, approachable presence that reinforces the resort's brand of friendly hospitality and deep respect for nature.

Report any irregularities or concerns to supervisors promptly, helping to uphold the high standards of safety and environmental care expected at Sand Valley.

Assist in the collection of data related to trail usage, wildlife sightings, and guest feedback to inform future land management decisions.

Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, adapting to seasonal demands, special events, and unexpected operational needs with professionalism.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire, ensuring maturity and reliability in outdoor stewardship responsibilities.

Possess a valid driver's license and demonstrate the ability to operate a vehicle safely in rural and resort environments.

Hold eligibility to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship at this time, as defined by current federal employment regulations.

Be legally authorized to accept employment in the United States and not require future work authorization sponsorship from the resort.

Provide the ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold, throughout the seasonal engagement.

Commit to working a consistent schedule that may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends depending on resort needs and seasonal demands.

Demonstrate physical capability to walk, hike, and navigate uneven sand surfaces, steep inclines, and rugged terrain for extended periods.

Maintain a professional demeanor and strong communication skills when interacting with guests, coworkers, and resort leadership.

Show respect for environmental policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures established to protect both guests and the natural landscape.

Nice to have

Experience guiding groups or providing visitor services in an outdoor recreation setting.

Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and ecological principles relevant to Wisconsin sand dune environments.

Background in conservation, trail maintenance, or environmental education that aligns with the resort's land stewardship values.

Familiarity with resort operations, hospitality standards, or previous work in a tourism-driven environment.

Comfort using handheld technology, radios, and basic software tools for logging and communication.

This is a full time seasonal engagement with hours aligned to resort operations and peak guest periods.

Travel is not required beyond the work location in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, as this role is based entirely on-site.
