Structural Design Engineer
Job description
About the role
Structural Design Engineer, Water Infrastructure
Our organization exists to safeguard the world's most vital resource through exceptional liquid storage solutions. We combine a century and a half of expertise with a steadfast commitment to quality, innovation, and customer value. This legacy is defined by more than 3,500 pre-stressed concrete tanks built globally; it is the foundation of our industry leadership. We are currently seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer (Entry-Level) to contribute to this mission, designing the resilient water infrastructure that communities depend upon.
This position is a cornerstone of our engineering team, responsible for transforming ambitious project visions into robust, tangible reality. You will play a critical role in the conception and delivery of concrete storage tanks that protect essential water resources. The role demands a blend of technical proficiency, creative problem-solving, and a dedication to excellence. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure every design meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and constructability. If you are ready to build infrastructure with a lasting impact, this is your opportunity.
Position Overview and Core Responsibilities
In this role, you will define the structural strategy for water containment projects, converting complex requirements into engineered solutions. Your work will ensure the durability and functionality of tanks that store water for municipalities and businesses nationwide. You will own the technical pathway from initial concept through detailed design and final documentation. This involves close coordination with analysis specialists and construction professionals to align design intent with practical execution. Your responsibilities will include the following.
You will develop initial structural layouts that establish the project's geometric and load framework. These foundational plans will guide subsequent detailed design activities for water tanks and supporting structures. You will evaluate various configuration options, selecting the approach that best aligns with project constraints and structural principles. A key part of your contribution will be preparing detailed calculation records. These documents will clearly articulate your design logic and rationale for review by peers and regulatory authorities. You will also author construction drawings that provide precise, actionable instructions for field crews.
Ensuring safety and compliance is paramount. You will rigorously check structural models against industry standards and design codes. This process confirms that the tank's capacity and performance meet all safety expectations for its intended use. You will adjust geometric and structural arrangements when site-specific conditions or updated regulations necessitate different solutions. Your work will further support verification processes that validate construction methods and material specifications. Finally, you will meticulously document all engineering decisions. This creates a clear knowledge base that enables future teams to maintain and expand the installed network of water infrastructure.
Required Qualifications and Professional Standards
This position requires a formal educational background and professional licensure. You must hold a degree in structural engineering or a closely related technical discipline. A fundamental understanding of analysis methods for liquid containers is essential. You should be proficient in evaluating the specific load cases and forces that affect storage facilities. Familiarity with relevant industry codes and established modeling approaches for tanks is a prerequisite for success.
You must have authorization to work in this country without the need for sponsorship. While the role is entry-level, we seek candidates who can demonstrate practical application of engineering principles. A minimum of three years of experience applying structural analysis to storage projects is required. This experience ensures you can transition effectively from theoretical design to real-world implementation.
Preferred Experience and Technical Tools
Candidates with experience in specific technologies will have a distinct advantage. Familiarity with pre-stressed concrete tanks and their associated detailing practices is highly valued. This specialized knowledge allows for more efficient and accurate design workflows from the project outset.
Your daily work will rely on a core set of engineering software. Proficiency in ETABS is required for complex structural analysis and modeling. Experience with STAAD PRO is essential for advanced analysis and design tasks. You will also utilize standard Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication.
Join Our Team
This role offers the chance to contribute to critical infrastructure projects with immediate and long-term community impact. You will join a company with a proven track record of excellence and a vision for the future of water security. If you are passionate about structural engineering and eager to build a meaningful career, we invite you to apply.
