What you'll do

• Design a variety of digital assets such as profile frames, nameplates, avatar decorations, and special effects that resonate with users.
• Create engaging storyboards and concepts that adhere to product limitations while fulfilling user needs and expectations.
• Produce in-app marketing materials for the Shop that seamlessly integrate with Discord's visual identity.
• Collaborate with external vendors and game publishers by providing clear art direction and constructive feedback to ensure quality outputs.
• Work closely with engineers and product designers to guarantee that all assets function effectively and meet performance standards.
• Manage projects from the initial idea phase through to final execution, ensuring that multiple deadlines are met without compromising quality.
• Engage in design critique sessions to refine your work based on iterative feedback from peers and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and user preferences to inform your design choices and keep the Discord experience fresh and relevant.
• Foster a collaborative environment by sharing insights and techniques with team members to elevate the overall creative output.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas that push the boundaries of digital design within the platform.
• Ensure that all designs align with Discord's brand guidelines and contribute to a cohesive user experience across all touchpoints.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a creative role, either in an agency setting or in-house, particularly within the gaming, technology, or entertainment industries.
• A strong portfolio that showcases your illustration and graphic design skills, ideally featuring work that has been incorporated into a product.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, with a solid understanding of their applications in digital design.
• Experience in applying brand guidelines and design systems to ensure visual consistency across various projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead external partners and manage the creative feedback process effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling you to present your design rationale clearly to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Figma for collaborative design processes.
• Skills in motion design or animation, particularly in how static assets can be animated for enhanced user engagement.
