About the role

Digimarc is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join the Solution Advisory Team, reporting to the Senior Director of Technical Services. This role is centered on the customization and extension of the Digimarc Illuminate platform to address specific and complex client requirements. The hire will operate across the complete technology stack, taking ownership of building integrations and resolving intricate technical challenges for both partners and end customers. You will serve as the primary technical liaison, ensuring that the platform aligns with the strategic objectives of our clients. This position demands a proactive approach to translating business needs into functional technical solutions. The role is integral to driving customer success and platform adoption in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for validating that technical implementations meet the promised value during the sales cycle and beyond.

What you'll do

• Guide customers and partners through technical onboarding for the Illuminate platform, ensuring a smooth and comprehensive implementation.
• Manage account configurations and setups within the platform, handling intricate settings to match partner workflow requirements.
• Act as a technical expert for Digimarc APIs and internal tools, providing deep-level consultation to stakeholders.
• Handle master data imports and custom data exports via scripting, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the process.
• Build real-time integrations by coding against partner and vendor services, connecting Illuminate with external ecosystems.
• Create add-on features using web-based tools and languages to enhance the core platform capabilities for specific use cases.
• Assist in designing sales demos and proof-of-concept applications that effectively communicate value to prospective clients.
• Provide second and third-level technical support, diagnosing and resolving complex issues that escalate from initial support tiers.
• Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams to ensure project success, feeding insights from the field back into the roadmap.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for configurations, integrations, and procedures to support long-term maintainability.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions with prospects to assess feasibility and scope before formal project initiation.
• Optimize integration performance and reliability, identifying bottlenecks and implementing efficient coding solutions.
• Coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure deployment environments meet security and compliance standards.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in customer meetings, articulating how technical solutions align with business outcomes.

Requirements

• Hold a BS degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge and skill.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of production-level programming experience, with verifiable history of deployed applications.
• Demonstrate fluency in JavaScript and Node.js, including asynchronous programming patterns and module systems.
• Show advanced proficiency in writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code suitable for production environments.
• Have a strong understanding of RESTful API principles, including design, authentication, and error handling mechanisms.
• Exhibit competence in managing and manipulating large datasets through scripting, ensuring performance and accuracy.
• Bring experience with version control systems, specifically Git, and collaborative workflows for software development.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills, utilizing logical reasoning to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
• Have a proven track record of working effectively in a SaaS or cloud-based software environment.
• Display excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in C++, Java, Python, or Bash, allowing for flexibility in handling diverse technical challenges.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their respective service offerings.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code practices to automate deployment processes.
• Understanding of data serialization formats such as JSON, XML, and Protocol Buffers.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks like React or Angular.
• Background in digital media, advertising technology, or content security can provide contextual advantages.
• Experience with database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases, for data modeling and querying.
