About the role
You will own the development and coordination of architectural information throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that digital models and documents accurately reflect design intent and meet project requirements. You will act as a central liaison between design disciplines, facilitating clear communication and data consistency across the project team. You will manage model integrity, version control, and file organization to support efficient collaboration and decision making. You will translate design objectives into coordinated technical outputs that align with project schedules and quality standards. You will support the integration of sustainable design principles and best practices into the digital representation of projects. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of modeling protocols and documentation workflows, promoting clarity and reliability for all stakeholders. You will maintain detailed records of model changes and coordinate responses to information requests during design development and construction phases. You will ensure that project deliverables remain organized, accessible, and compliant with internal and external standards.

What you'll do
Coordinate the development and coordination of architectural models and documentation across all design phases, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Support the implementation and enforcement of modeling standards, file naming conventions, and version control protocols to enhance team efficiency.
Liaise with project managers, job captains, architects, engineers, and specifications staff to align model information with project requirements and schedules.
Perform quality assurance checks on architectural models to verify completeness, correctness, and compliance with project standards.
Manage model coordination activities, including clash detection workflows and the tracking of design decisions across disciplines.
Maintain detailed issue logs and coordinate responses to information requests related to architectural models and documentation.
Organize project model components and data structures to support streamlined design reviews, construction documentation, and information sharing.
Assist in the integration of sustainable design criteria into model development, ensuring that performance objectives are appropriately represented.
Support the preparation of model-based outputs for client presentations, design coordination meetings, and construction documentation.
Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new modeling techniques and technologies that improve accuracy, clarity, and collaboration.
Monitor project timelines related to information delivery, identifying potential risks and supporting mitigation strategies through model coordination.
Promote clear communication between office teams and stakeholders by maintaining organized model packages and responsive documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on modeling workflows, tools, and team collaboration practices.
Assist in the development of training resources and knowledge sharing activities related to architectural modeling and BIM processes.
Requirements
Demonstrated post-secondary education in Architectural Technology, Building Information Modeling, or a related design field.
Possess a strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction methods, and building systems relevant to the design development process.
Show proficiency in building information modeling software, with the ability to manage complex digital representations of architectural elements.
Have experience with model coordination, version control, and file management practices within a multidisciplinary design environment.
Exhibit strong attention to detail, ensuring that model information is accurate, consistent, and aligned with project specifications.
Demonstrate effective communication skills, able to convey technical information clearly to team members and stakeholders.
Show capability in problem solving, identifying potential model conflicts, and supporting timely resolution strategies.

Practical notes
This role is based in Calgary, Alberta.
Relocation support is not available for this position.
The work location for this role is primarily office-based within the Calgary studio.
Travel is not expected as part of this role.
This role is not eligible for Canadian work visa sponsorship.
Candidates must have authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship at the time of application.
This position is full time, and successful candidates are expected to commit to a continuous schedule during standard office hours.
