Product Designer
Job description
About the role
You define the end-to-end experience for users interacting with digital minds on the Delphi network. You own the design of consumer journeys from first interaction to complex configuration, ensuring each touchpoint feels intentional and alive. You translate abstract product vision into concrete interaction flows, systems, and design artifacts that bridge user needs with technical reality. You obsess over details like timing, micro-interactions, and loading states to craft digital experiences that build trust and delight. You partner closely with founders and engineers to validate ideas quickly and iterate based on real usage data. You establish and evolve design systems and interaction patterns that scale consistently across web and native mobile. You act as the primary user advocate, pushing for thoughtful design decisions that balance empathy, feasibility, and long-term product value.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct deep user research to uncover needs, behaviors, and motivations that inform the structure and flow of digital mind interactions.
- Translate research findings into user flows, journey maps, and wireframes that clarify complex interactions before investing in high-fidelity design.
- Design end-to-end user experiences for interacting with digital minds, covering onboarding, conversation flows, content upload, and configuration interfaces.
- Build and maintain design systems and interaction patterns that ensure consistency and efficiency across web and mobile products.
- Rapidly prototype experiences in code using Figma and React to validate concepts, test usability, and ship designs directly to production.
- Define interaction details that make digital experiences feel alive, including timing, transitions, loading states, error handling, and micro-moments.
- Collaborate with engineers to translate design intent into technical implementations, bridging gaps between feasibility and user-centered design.
- Analyze product metrics and user feedback to identify opportunities, define experiments, and iterate on designs to improve outcomes.
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing to align on vision, prioritize features, and communicate design rationale.
- Own critical product decisions that impact retention, engagement, and clarity for both new and expert users of digital mind features.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes and production-ready components that demonstrate interaction design, typography, and visual polish.
- Establish clear documentation and rationale for design decisions to support alignment and scalability across teams.
- Identify patterns and opportunities for reusable components, reducing design and engineering overhead over time.
- Partner with product managers and founders to define minimum viable experiences that balance ambition with speed.
- Contribute to long-term product strategy by thinking in systems about how digital minds integrate into users' daily lives.
Requirements
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- You have 4+ years of experience designing digital consumer products with a strong understanding of interaction design and design systems.
- You demonstrate a portfolio that showcases your process, from research through prototyping to polished, production-ready outcomes.
- You are a systems thinker who can create reusable solutions and design patterns that scale across features and platforms.
- You are deeply product-minded, considering user psychology, technical constraints, information architecture, and business impact in your decisions.
- You have a strong grasp of modern frontend concepts and are technically fluent enough to prototype in code and communicate effectively with engineering teams.
- You are comfortable working with tools such as Figma, React, and related prototyping or version control systems in your workflow.
- You are a clear and persuasive communicator who can articulate design decisions, facilitate collaboration, and align cross-functional stakeholders.
- You are based in or able to work in San Francisco, where the role is located and where the team operates primarily from the office.
- You are eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship for this position at this time.
Nice to have
- Experience designing AI-driven or conversational interfaces that feel responsive and human-like.
- Familiarity with consumer products that incorporate incentives, game mechanics, virality, and retention loops.
- Background working with founders and high-ambiguity product environments where scope and direction evolve quickly.
- Previous contributions to open design systems or component libraries used in production products.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams in fast-paced, iterative development cycles.
