You will join a central team in Barcelona to support the global infrastructure of the Delivery Hero Group. This role is dedicated to building scalable quality solutions for vendor-facing applications while collaborating with international cross-functional teams. What you'll do
- Promote quality standards across the engineering organization by defining and enforcing best practices for testing.
- Develop and execute comprehensive quality strategies and testing processes that cover the entire application lifecycle.
- Build automation for critical end-to-end workflows and support developers with testing tasks to increase overall efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues reported by global teams, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Track product quality through logs, metrics, and alerts to suggest observability improvements that enhance system reliability.
- Conduct manual exploratory testing to supplement automated coverage and uncover issues that automated scripts might miss.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for test scenarios, ensuring clarity and reusability for current and future team members.
- Improve existing automation frameworks to increase resilience, reduce maintenance overhead, and improve execution speed.
- Partner with product managers, designers, data teams, and developers to refine vendor-facing software through iterative feedback and collaboration.
- Design test architectures that align with cloud-native principles and support scalable, maintainable test suites.
- Validate integrations between microservices to ensure data consistency and correct system behavior across distributed components.
- Contribute to the open-source community where relevant by sharing insights and improvements made during the testing process.
- Mentor junior QA engineers on testing methodologies, tooling, and effective automation practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide rapid response to production incidents related to quality and test coverage.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, demonstrating a proven track record in delivering high-quality software.
- 2+ years of experience testing Android applications, with a strong understanding of mobile application architectures and user interactions.
- 2+ years of experience with test automation tools like Appium, RestAssured, or Cucumber, showcasing hands-on implementation of automated test solutions.
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, specifically Java or Kotlin, to develop and maintain test scripts and frameworks.
- Proven ability to design test strategies and manage test documentation, ensuring comprehensive coverage and traceability.
- Capacity to translate complex technical information into clear, readable documentation that stakeholders can easily understand.
- Professional level of English proficiency, enabling effective communication with global teams and stakeholders.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable code in a version-controlled environment using Git workflows.
- Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices, including participation in sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous integration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team across different time zones.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and propose effective testing approaches.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends in testing and quality engineering.

- Experience with Espresso or Appium for mobile test automation.
- Background in software development, particularly for Android, providing insight into development challenges.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, including deploying and managing test environments.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Drone CI, or Bitrise to automate test execution.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools including Sentr, Crashlytics, or Grafana to analyze system behavior and performance.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in Barcelona, Spain, offering a hybrid schedule with two days of remote work per week. The role includes three weeks of work-from-anywhere time per year to support flexibility and work-life balance.
