Joining the Tech Controlling function at Delivery Hero as a Specialist Finance Controller for Technology offers the opportunity to operate at the intersection of finance and technology within a fast-scaling environment. You will manage multi-million dollar cloud expenses and oversee financial processes for our global technology and product departments on an international scale. In this role, you will drive cost accountability and ensure rigorous financial governance across our technology landscape. You will work directly embedded within the tech organization to identify savings opportunities and enhance financial transparency across our international entities. This position requires a proactive approach to capitalizing technology investments and maintaining strict financial controls. You will be instrumental in building robust financial frameworks that support innovation while protecting the company's assets. What you'll do

Establish financial transparency for all global cloud services and tools by implementing rigorous monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

Promote a culture of cost accountability across international teams through targeted analysis and clear communication of financial performance.

Manage and refine processes for cost-splitting and chargebacks to ensure accurate allocation of technology expenses.

Assist with procurement and global tech contract management by building detailed forecasts and sophisticated cost models for decision support.

Collaborate with finance and tech staff to automate controlling workflows and boost efficiency through the adoption of modern tools and techniques.

Support headquarters tech teams with the capitalization of development projects to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly variance analysis to provide leadership with timely and accurate financial information.

Analyze trends across P&L, balance sheets, and non-financial KPIs to uncover insights that drive strategic technology investments.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of cloud billing, reporting, pricing models, and charging methods to optimize cost management.

Take ownership of managing personnel costs within the technology budget, ensuring alignment with headcount plans and financial objectives.

Perform in-depth financial modeling and scenario planning to evaluate the financial impact of technology initiatives and operational changes.

Champion the improvement of financial processes by identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions that enhance accuracy and timeliness.

Act as a key liaison between the technology teams and the finance department to ensure clear communication and alignment on financial matters.

Drive continuous improvement in IT cost controlling practices by leveraging advanced Excel modeling and data analysis techniques.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in IT cost controlling within a technology or similar environment is essential for this role.

You must possess proven ability to perform financial analysis and construct data models that provide actionable insights for decision-makers.

Demonstrated proficiency in creating ad hoc reports, statistics, and deviation analyses is required to support operational and strategic reviews.

Advanced skills in Excel modeling are mandatory, including the ability to manage complex formulas and large data sets with accuracy.

Strong communication abilities in English are required, with the capacity to engage both technical and business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

You must have a proactive, pragmatic mindset with a relentless focus on process optimization and operational excellence.

The ability to maintain high motivation and self-manage in a fast-changing, dynamic environment is a critical requirement for success.

Practical notes

This is a hybrid work model with a requirement of 2 days per week at our Berlin campus.

The annual leave entitlement is 27 days.
