About the role
This position supports the PedidosYa Markets team by managing local human resources policies and fostering a positive work culture in Guatemala. You will act as a primary point of contact for staff, balancing administrative accuracy with strategic development to drive team performance and engagement. The role requires ownership of the entire employee journey, ensuring policies are applied consistently and exceptions are managed thoughtfully. Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and contract administration for all local hires.
- Maintain payroll and personnel records, tracking attendance, turnover, overtime, vacations, and bonuses with high attention to detail.
- Lead recruitment and talent attraction efforts, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and selecting the best fit for the team.
- Facilitate interpersonal conflict resolution and promote team effectiveness through coaching and structured interventions.
- Support the annual benefits plan and implement internal communication and performance evaluation initiatives to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Monitor local labor laws and handle work permits or residency documentation for foreign staff to ensure full legal compliance.
- Organize recreational activities and events to strengthen company culture and boost employee engagement across departments.
- Coordinate performance review cycles, ensuring feedback is constructive, timely, and aligned with company objectives.
- Serve as the local expert on HR policies, interpreting global guidelines for the Guatemalan context and team needs.
- Act as a change agent for process improvements, identifying administrative gaps and proposing scalable solutions for the team.
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate headcount planning, budget tracking, and compensation benchmarking within local regulations.
- Provide guidance and training to local managers on HR procedures, ensuring consistent application of policies across the organization.
- Track HR metrics and prepare reports to support data-driven decisions on hiring, retention, and workforce planning.
- Ensure all employee documentation is complete, secure, and stored in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital, retail, mass consumption, or other fast-paced, agile industries.
- Proficiency in local labor legislation and compensation structures specific to Guatemala.
- Intermediate English proficiency to communicate effectively with global stakeholders and understand documentation.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite for daily administrative and analytical tasks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple variables and prioritize service-oriented tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive employee information with discretion at all times.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies, procedures, and code of conduct as they apply to all Guatemalan staff.
Nice to have
- Experience with HR management systems such as Workday to streamline data management and reporting.
- Knowledge of reporting tools to extract insights and support decision-making for the PedidosYa Markets team.
