About the role
We are looking for a Credit Risk Specialist to join our regional team in Buenos Aires. In this position, you will manage credit policies and pricing strategies to balance business expansion with regulatory requirements. You will own the design of monthly credit policies specific to the Latin American market and ensure alignment with global risk frameworks. The role requires you to manage risk assessments for new product launches and market entries across key territories. You will track default rates and be responsible for designing data-driven mitigation plans to protect the business. You will partner closely with Data Analytics to build, test, and deploy credit scoring models that improve predictive accuracy. Another core duty is to test and validate updates within the risk engine to ensure smooth operational execution. Finally, you will present strategic risk insights and recommendations to regional leadership to support informed decision-making.

What you'll do
- Create and refine monthly credit and pricing policies for the region while monitoring performance indicators.
- Manage risk assessments for new product launches and market entries to ensure compliance and feasibility.
- Track default rates and design data-driven mitigation plans that reduce losses and improve portfolio health.
- Partner with Data Analytics to build and deploy credit scoring models that enhance risk segmentation.
- Test and validate updates within the risk engine to confirm accuracy and stability before rollout.
- Present strategic risk insights and recommendations to regional leadership using clear and concise reporting.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for policy optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align credit strategies with commercial objectives.
- Develop scenario analyses and stress tests to evaluate the impact of economic changes on credit performance.
- Maintain documentation of policies, procedures, and decisions to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
- Support the implementation of pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with risk exposure.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of credit operations.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their potential impact on regional credit policies.
- Act as a subject matter expert within the Credits Risk team and mentor junior colleagues as needed.
Requirements
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field is required for this position.
- Proven background in credit risk within the banking or fintech sectors is essential for success in this role.
- Experience setting credit policies and pricing models with a focus on outcomes is mandatory.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel for data analysis is necessary to perform daily responsibilities.
- Intermediate English skills for regional and global communication are required to engage with stakeholders.
- You must be authorized to work in Argentina without requiring sponsorship at this time.
- You must reside in Buenos Aires or be willing to relocate to the city for this role.
- You must have the right to live and work in Argentina without sponsorship or legal sponsorship support.
- You must not require sponsorship for a work visa or permit to accept this position.
- You must be available to start within the next 30 days to ensure continuity in project timelines.
- You must commit to a minimum contract duration of 12 months to ensure stability in the role.
