Senior Software Development Engineer
Job description
About the role
Join Delinea's Non-Human Identity (NHI) team as a Senior Software Engineer, where you will be instrumental in developing products that discover, govern, and secure machine identities such as service accounts, secrets, workloads, and AI agents. These machine identities now outnumber human identities significantly in enterprise environments, making this role critical to modern security infrastructure. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable microservices that run in Kubernetes on Microsoft Azure. Your work will involve leveraging C# on the .NET platform, with data stored in Azure Cosmos DB and relational databases like Azure SQL. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Delinea's mission of strengthening identity and access management ecosystems through innovative engineering practices and high-quality code. You will report directly to the team's engineering manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that meet security, privacy, and operational standards.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect the design of secure microservices and distributed systems, ensuring they align with Delinea's cloud architecture standards and security policies.
- Develop, test, and maintain microservices using C# on the .NET framework, focusing on performance, security, and scalability.
- Optimize data access layers across Azure Cosmos DB and relational systems such as Azure SQL, implementing caching strategies to improve performance and reduce latency.
- Build event-driven workflows utilizing RabbitMQ for internal messaging, ensuring reliable and scalable communication between services.
- Integrate with enterprise identity providers like Okta and Microsoft Entra ID/Graph, supporting secure, tenant-aware access control and multi-tenancy features.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management using Terraform, applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles for consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, enabling automated, secure deployment processes with minimal manual intervention.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, and DevOps teams to define system roadmaps, prioritize features, and ensure compliance with security and privacy standards.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and design assessments, emphasizing security, performance, and maintainability to uphold high engineering standards.
- Provide technical mentorship to peers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and best practices within the engineering team.
- Participate in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident response activities to ensure high system availability and reliability.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to cloud-native microservices, security, and identity management to continuously improve the platform.
Requirements
