About the role
Delinea is looking for a Manager of Software Development Engineering to oversee the engineering team responsible for the Delinea Platform experience. This leadership position involves managing a team of front-end engineers, guiding the development of the platform's user interface, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accessible, and innovative features. The manager will work closely with design, product, and engineering teams to translate strategic roadmaps into operational plans, while maintaining alignment with company standards and best practices. The role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a collaborative environment that promotes continuous improvement and innovation. As part of the leadership team, you will play a key role in strengthening Delinea's identity and access management ecosystem through high-quality engineering practices and innovative solutions.

What you'll do
- Lead and develop a team of software engineers focused on building and enhancing the Delinea Platform experience, including hiring, coaching, and career development.
- Manage the daily operations of the front-end engineering team, balancing feature delivery, technical debt management, platform reliability, and overall user experience across the entire Delinea Platform.
- Own the delivery of the team's roadmap for the component library and other UX services, which are developed using Angular and C#, ensuring they meet the company's engineering and design standards.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure UI/UX standards are consistently applied across all services within the micro-frontend architecture, maintaining component API compatibility and visual consistency.
- Identify common UI/UX patterns that should be promoted to standard components, coordinate their development, and oversee their lifecycle to ensure reusability and maintainability.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development planning sessions with direct reports to foster growth and engagement.
- Translate product, design, and engineering roadmaps into actionable operational plans, guiding the team through execution and delivery phases.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, DevOps, and SRE leadership to align priorities, set expectations, and present results and recommendations.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and processes, recommending improvements to optimize team productivity and product quality.
- Ensure the platform's accessibility, security, and compliance requirements are met in all engineering efforts, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Support onboarding of new team members, facilitate knowledge sharing, and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Monitor platform performance and reliability metrics, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance stability and user satisfaction.
- Advocate for technical excellence and innovation within the team, encouraging experimentation with new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that can improve the platform experience.
- Work closely with the product team to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions that enhance usability and security.
- Lead efforts to improve development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and automated testing, to ensure efficient and high-quality releases.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the latest trends and best practices in front-end development, micro-frontend architecture, and identity security platforms.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the departmental level, providing technical guidance and insights to executive leadership.
- Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect, ensuring the team environment supports innovation and professional growth.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading front-end engineering teams, with a strong background in Angular and C#.
- Extensive knowledge of component-based architecture and micro-frontend design principles.
- Demonstrated ability to translate design, product, and engineering roadmaps into technical plans and deliverables.
- Experience managing software development in complex enterprise environments, preferably within security or identity management domains.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with design, product, engineering, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong leadership qualities with a track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent.
- Familiarity with UI/UX standards, accessibility best practices, and security considerations.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and engineering standards.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including DevOps/SRE to ensure platform stability and scalability.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Technical proficiency in front-end development, component libraries, and related tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Azure, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and ITAR regulations relevant to enterprise platforms.
- Background in SaaS, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with AI and ML integration within enterprise security platforms.
- Past experience working on identity and access management solutions or security-focused platforms.
