Join the Finance Operations team at DeepL, focusing on Accounts Payable within the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) function. This role is key to a broad transformation program, overhauling procurement and payment processes as DeepL expands globally. You will gain direct experience with end-to-end AP processes and contribute to building scalable financial infrastructure.

What you'll do
- Process supplier invoices accurately and on time, including verification, coding, and posting according to matching principles and approval workflows.
- Analyze Accounts Payable aging, spend, and approval data to identify trends and potential issues for senior review.
- Utilize AI tools to optimize invoice processing and generate actionable financial insights.
- Assist with variance analysis for AP accruals and open Purchase Orders, and support cash flow forecasting.
- Develop an understanding of double-entry accounting and the impact of AP transactions on financial statements.
- Support Travel & Expenses reporting, monitoring compliance and producing reports for budget owners.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies directly with suppliers.
- Reconcile corporate credit card statements, ensuring the subledger is current and matched to receipts.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and open PO reviews.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, and budget owners on new supplier onboarding and contracts.
- Help develop P2P team structures and standards, supporting digitalization and automation initiatives.
- Use Workday, Omnea, and Databricks-based reporting to track invoice status and key metrics, building dashboards and ad-hoc analysis.
- Act as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding payment status and AP inquiries.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, specifically in accounts payable or a general finance/accounting role, ideally in a fast-paced or international setting.
- Experience managing direct teams or leading projects with measurable results.
- Ability to build financial analysis from transactional data, including spend trends, aging, variance, or forecasting, beyond just reporting raw numbers.
- Hands-on experience with finance/procurement systems such as NetSuite, Workday, Omnea, or Databricks, along with strong Excel/spreadsheet modeling skills.
- Working knowledge of Claude or similar AI tools, and a proven ability to quickly learn new tools.
- Experience in an international company managing multiple legal entities and currencies, understanding process variations.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, structured, and goal-oriented approach to analysis, reconciliations, and documentation.
- An outgoing, self-motivated individual with strong communication and organizational skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Nice to have
- Strong understanding of Procurement and/or Accounts Payable processes.
- Experience with Databricks, Omnea, or similar procurement/data platforms.
- Exposure to transformation, automation, or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with controls discipline in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in cash management and collaborating with Treasury for cash flow efficiency.
