About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing Deepgram's visibility and ensuring a consistent narrative across various platforms, including product launches, media engagements, and significant corporate events. Your primary objective will be to position Deepgram as a prominent authority in the artificial intelligence landscape, effectively reaching enterprise clients, developers, and the wider tech community.

What you'll do
- Formulate and implement a comprehensive communications strategy in partnership with the CEO, CMO, and other senior executives to align messaging across the organization.
- Lead the communications efforts for all product launches, major announcements, and key company milestones to ensure maximum impact and visibility.
- Strengthen Deepgram's reputation as a leader in technical innovation by showcasing advancements in research, practical applications, success stories from customers, and visionary insights into voice AI.
- Discover and develop compelling narratives from various departments, including research, engineering, product management, customer relations, and leadership teams.
- Craft essential messaging, foundational narratives, press releases, executive talking points, Q&A documents, and briefing materials to support communication efforts.
- Manage proactive and reactive media relations to enhance Deepgram's public image and address any emerging issues.
- Assist in shaping executive communication strategies and thought leadership initiatives to elevate the visibility of the leadership team.
- Define and execute the strategy for Deepgram's corporate presence on social media platforms, ensuring alignment with overall communications goals.
- Facilitate Deepgram's participation in important industry discussions and events to maintain relevance and influence.
- Provide communications support for major company events, including the annual fall gathering, to ensure cohesive messaging.
- Work collaboratively with teams across branding, product marketing, editorial, and demand generation to ensure alignment and effectiveness in communication efforts.
- Establish streamlined communication processes for product launches and cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in communications, with significant expertise in corporate communications, public relations, or executive communications, preferably within a technology-focused organization or agency.
- Proven track record of devising communication strategies that have positively impacted a company's reputation or market position, particularly in relation to major product launches and corporate milestones.
- Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex insights from technical and product teams into engaging narratives for diverse audiences.
- Established media relationships and sound judgment, with an understanding of when to take proactive measures and how to navigate sensitive situations effectively.
- Experience serving as a strategic advisor to senior executives, helping to shape their public persona through various communication formats, including speeches, articles, and social media.
- A solid technical background that enables credible discussions on topics such as model performance, developer tools, and enterprise AI applications, along with a genuine curiosity about these subjects.
- Ability to thrive in uncertain environments, demonstrating a builder's mindset and the capability to create new functions and processes without unnecessary bureaucracy.
- A collaborative spirit, with experience working effectively across various teams, including brand, product marketing, product development, demand generation, and go-to-market strategies.
- Exceptional writing and editing capabilities, with a commitment to clarity and high-quality standards in all communications.
