What you'll do

• Lead the development of mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding and design.
• Collaborate with product managers and UX/UI designers to translate requirements into functional mobile applications that provide a seamless user experience.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring they perform well under various conditions and on different devices.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing mobile applications, implementing effective solutions to enhance performance and reliability.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in mobile development, integrating new tools and practices into the development process.
• Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Mentor and guide less experienced team members, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers in mobile development.
• Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and other services, ensuring smooth data flow between mobile applications and server-side components.
• Document technical specifications and maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the mobile development process by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices.
• Engage in user testing and gather feedback to refine applications, ensuring they meet user expectations and business objectives.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mobile software development, with a strong portfolio of successful applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Swift, Kotlin, or Java, with a solid understanding of mobile development frameworks and libraries.
• Experience with mobile application architecture patterns, such as MVC, MVVM, or MVP, and a deep understanding of mobile design principles.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries, with the ability to integrate them into mobile applications seamlessly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a timely manner.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Firebase for mobile application deployment and management.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices and experience implementing security features in applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools for automating the mobile development process.
• Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a development team.
• Understanding of analytics and performance monitoring tools to track application usage and performance metrics.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in mobile development tools and environments, including Xcode and Android Studio.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, for managing code changes and collaboration.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira or Trello.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and practices to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Strong understanding of user interface design principles and experience working with design tools like Figma or Sketch.
