Agent Deployment Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end execution of AI agent builds for strategic enterprise customers, translating their complex requirements into reliable, production-grade agent deployments. This role places you at the intersection of technical implementation and customer partnership, where your work directly defines the quality and reliability of deployed AI systems. You are responsible for architecting agentic logic, designing layered guardrails, and validating integrations to ensure agents perform safely and correctly in real-world environments. You will interface with senior technical stakeholders on the customer side while deeply engaging in the configuration and execution details on the internal platform side. This position requires a hands-on technical mindset paired with structured thinking to balance day-to-day build execution with long-term system design. You will work within a fast-moving, in-office environment committed to velocity, collaboration, and delivering exceptional outcomes for customers using Decagon's platform.
Key facts
What you'll do
Own end-to-end architecture and execution of AI agent builds for enterprise customers, spanning initial scoping, systems design, implementation, evaluation, and production deployment.
Design and engineer core agentic logic that governs agent behavior, applying rigorous engineering principles to optimize quality, reliability, and correctness across non-deterministic model outputs.
Engineer and validate layered guardrails and supervisory controls to ensure agent outputs remain safe, compliant, and predictable across diverse real-world scenarios.
Architect, build, and test integrations with customer systems such as data pipelines, CRMs, and ticketing systems, including the tools, APIs, and workflows required for reliable large-scale deployments.
Interface with senior technical stakeholders at customer organizations to define success criteria and system requirements, then drive technical delivery against demanding timelines.
Diagnose, debug, and resolve probabilistic and technical failures by performing deep root-cause analysis of execution traces, error logs, and model behavior.
Design evaluation and regression-testing frameworks that continuously validate agent behavior against ground truth and protect against performance drift over time.
Translate nuanced customer needs into clear internal documentation and run tight feedback loops with engineering teams to drive iterative platform improvements.
Partner closely with Agent PMs, Agent Success, Engineering, and Go-To-Market teams to deliver consistent, repeatable, best-in-class agent builds that align with customer expectations.
Champion the reliability and correctness of deployed agents by combining hands-on technical work with structured problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
Have 5+ years of relevant experience in a technical customer-facing role, such as solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, technical consulting, implementation engineering, or technical product management.
Demonstrate native or business-level fluency in both written and spoken English and German, as this role requires clear communication with international stakeholders.
Maintain a strong technical foundation, including comfort writing code, working with APIs, and building or validating integrations end-to-end from conception to production.
Bring experience delivering production-grade customer solutions that demand structured execution, thorough testing and validation, and disciplined iteration.
Show capability to communicate clearly and persuasively with senior technical and non-technical stakeholders while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Exhibit ownership and bias for action, thriving in fast-paced environments where you must balance urgent delivery with thoughtful system design.
Demonstrate comfort working with probabilistic AI systems, debugging issues rooted in model non-determinism, and applying systematic troubleshooting approaches.
Commit to working within an in-office environment and adhering to defined hours, travel expectations, and deadlines as required by client engagements.
Practical notes
Decagon is an in-office company, and this role requires consistent presence at our London office. Defined hours apply in alignment with client project needs, and travel may be required as part of customer engagements. Visa sponsorship is not indicated in this job description, and candidates must ensure they meet eligibility to work in the United Kingdom. Deadlines will be set in coordination with client timelines and project milestones, requiring reliable adherence to schedules and delivery commitments.
