About the role

Decagon is experiencing significant growth, expanding its workforce from 400 to over 1,000 employees. To support this rapid scaling, we are seeking a strategic HR Business Partner who will serve as a key advisor to our leaders in Sales and Customer Success. This role is essential for establishing the internal frameworks necessary to sustain our expansion and ensure that our teams are well-equipped to meet their objectives.

What you'll do

• Act as a strategic consultant to executives and managers in the Sales, Customer Success, and Implementation teams, providing insights and recommendations to enhance performance.
• Spearhead initiatives related to organizational design, workforce planning, and territory modeling to optimize team structures and resource allocation.
• Partner with Finance and Sales Operations to facilitate headcount planning and create effective sales compensation frameworks that align with business goals.
• Design and roll out essential HR playbooks that cover onboarding processes, performance calibration, and compensation cycles to standardize practices across the organization.
• Mentor managers on effective performance management techniques, productivity driven by quotas, and strategies for leadership development.
• Utilize people analytics to assess and address potential talent or retention challenges within the organization.
• Navigate and resolve complex employee relations matters while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and company culture.
• Lead change management efforts as the organization evolves and scales, ensuring smooth transitions and employee buy-in.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources, specifically in roles such as HR Business Partner or People Partner within high-growth SaaS or technology companies.
• A proven track record of supporting revenue-generating teams, particularly in Sales or Customer Success environments.
• In-depth knowledge of go-to-market (GTM) strategies, including the intricacies of quota-carrying performance cycles, ramp-up periods, and incentive structures.
• Proficiency in organizational design, succession planning, and workforce strategy development.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing and maturing HR Business Partner functions from the ground up.
• Excellent communication abilities, with a knack for building trust and rapport across various levels of leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience working in hypergrowth settings where uncertainty and rapid change are the norms.
• Familiarity with global HR practices, including compliance across multiple countries and management of Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements.
• Previous collaboration with Finance and Revenue Operations teams on developing sales compensation strategies.
• An innovative mindset towards leveraging AI to streamline HR workflows and administrative tasks.
