What you'll do

• Architect and implement scalable backend services using TypeScript to handle high-volume financial transactions and user requests.
• Design and develop user interfaces with React.js and React Native to deliver intuitive, member-centric experiences that simplify financial interactions.
• Lead technical design discussions and translate complex product visions into concrete, executable specifications for the engineering team.
• Conduct in-depth code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and alignment with our strict security and performance standards.
• Provide hands-on mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers through pair programming and constructive feedback sessions.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to iterate on feature specifications, ensuring alignment between technical constraints and user expectations.
• Integrate and utilize monitoring and metric tools proactively to identify performance bottlenecks and ensure system reliability.
• Guide the team's technical direction by evaluating new technologies and frameworks that can enhance our development velocity and product capabilities.
• Work within an Agile framework to plan sprints, estimate tasks, and deliver high-quality software on schedule.
• Explain complex system architecture and component design clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders during cross-functional discussions.
• Champion best practices in software development to build resilient, maintainable, and efficient systems that support future growth.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to solve ambiguous problems and drive projects from conception through launch.
• Continuously assess and improve the development process to eliminate bottlenecks and foster a culture of learning and innovation.
• Ensure all solutions are built with a deep understanding of the unique needs of financially vulnerable users.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, with alternative consideration given for equivalent experience and training.
• Bring more than four years of professional software engineering experience building full stack applications from start to finish.
• Demonstrate strong foundational knowledge of computer science principles and proven problem-solving abilities in complex scenarios.
• Show proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Exhibit expertise in using modern front-end frameworks to build user-focused, responsive interfaces.
• Communicate effectively with a positive mindset and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback in a collaborative setting.
• Demonstrate understanding and practical use of monitoring and analytics tools to measure system performance and user impact.
• Thrive in an Agile development environment, comfortably navigating iterative processes and changing requirements.

This role is based in the United States and requires full-time commitment. Team members have the flexibility to live and work across the country with the exception of Hawaii.
