What you'll do
- Design and develop electrical and mechanical systems tailored for critical environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct thorough assessments of existing systems to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions that enhance performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, architects, and technicians, to ensure integration of new systems into existing infrastructure.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems, including schematics, operational procedures, and maintenance logs.
- Monitor system performance using advanced diagnostic tools and software, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for optimization.
- Lead root cause analysis for system failures, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve overall reliability.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance the effectiveness of our critical environment systems.
- Participate in the planning and execution of projects, ensuring that all electrical and mechanical work is completed on time and within budget.
- Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
- Engage in regular communication with stakeholders to report on project progress, system performance, and any potential issues that may arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical engineering within critical environments, preferably in data centers or similar facilities.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, HVAC systems, and fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for system design and analysis.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, NFPA, and IEC.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and proactive.
- Fluency in French and English is required; additional languages are a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience with energy management systems and sustainability practices in critical environments.
- Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and their integration with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or relevant engineering certifications.
- Familiarity with data center design and operations, including Tier classifications.
- Experience with automation and control systems, including PLC programming.

- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software for creating detailed engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and performance monitoring tools.
