About the role
The serves as the primary link between the organization and its healthcare partners, ensuring seamless daily operations. In this position, you will manage proactive communication channels to address inquiries and provide timely updates on logistics and inventory. You will leverage Salesforce to investigate and resolve customer complaints while maintaining meticulous records of all interactions. The role requires routing medical drivers on a daily basis and coordinating hazardous route drivers on a weekly schedule to ensure compliance and efficiency. You will be responsible for tracking and monitoring driver activity to uphold service standards and operational accuracy. Collaboration with administrative and production teams is essential to guarantee the accuracy of manifest creation and the preparation of billing documentation. Additionally, you will analyze route performance data to identify opportunities for cost optimization and continuous process improvements in the transportation workflow.

What you'll do
- Serve as the main point of contact for hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities, representing Daniels Sharpsmart in all communications.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone and email, delivering proactive communication regarding schedules, stock changes, and service updates.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and requests using Salesforce, ensuring issues are tracked to completion with detailed documentation.
- Route medical drivers daily and hazardous route drivers weekly, optimizing assignments based on urgency, location, and resource availability.
- Track and monitor driver activity through integrated systems to ensure adherence to schedules, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with administration and production staff to verify the accuracy of manifest creation and prepare materials for billing processing.
- Analyze route efficiencies for cost optimization and process improvements, identifying trends that impact operational performance and profitability.
- Support Transportation Supervisor with projects and operational tasks, including special initiatives that enhance departmental effectiveness and strategic goals.
- Maintain and update filing, inventory, and database systems to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and compliance with organizational procedures.
- Utilize Salesforce as the central platform for managing customer interactions, scheduling, and documentation related to transportation activities.
- Apply knowledge of transportation and logistics practices to resolve complex scenarios and support decision-making at the operational level.
- Demonstrate adaptability in managing fluctuating priorities within a fast-paced healthcare logistics environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Requirements
- Possess + years of experience in customer service and transportation support or dispatch, demonstrating a proven track record in similar roles.
- Show familiarity with route optimization techniques and cost-saving strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) as the minimum educational qualification for this position.
- Exhibit the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively while thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for daily administrative and communication tasks.
- Have a solid understanding of transportation and logistics practices, procedures, and industry-specific terminology relevant to the role.
- Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with healthcare providers and internal teams.
