About the role

As a DevOps Engineer at Customsoftware Systems, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations. Your primary focus will be on streamlining the software development lifecycle, enhancing deployment processes, and ensuring system reliability and performance. What you'll do

Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
Collaborate with software developers to create and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across various environments, ensuring high availability and reliability of applications.
Develop and maintain configuration management solutions using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to streamline server management.
Implement security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to design scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on DevOps practices.
Document processes, configurations, and workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve DevOps practices within the organization.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps role or similar position.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
Strong experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
Familiarity with cloud service providers, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Solid understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and system architecture.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Nice to have

Certifications in relevant technologies, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
Familiarity with database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
Understanding of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is a plus.
