As a DevOps Engineer at Customsoftware Systems, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations. Key facts
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with software developers to create and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across various environments, ensuring high availability and reliability of applications.
- Develop and maintain configuration management solutions using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to streamline server management.
- Implement security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to design scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on DevOps practices.
- Document processes, configurations, and workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve DevOps practices within the organization.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps role or similar position.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
- Strong experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud service providers, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and system architecture.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Nice to have
- Certifications in relevant technologies, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
- Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
- Familiarity with database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
- Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is a plus.
