About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Service Representative to join Curri's Operations team in Ventura, CA. This position plays a vital role in managing full truckload (FTL) shipments, ensuring high levels of service reliability, and expanding carrier capacity to support Curri's most valuable and high-priority loads. The role offers an opportunity to directly influence service quality, foster customer retention, and contribute to scalable growth within a fast-paced logistics environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating logistics operations, building strong relationships with carriers and customers, and continuously improving operational processes to meet company goals.

What you'll do
- Take ownership of FTL execution from start to finish, including sourcing carriers, onboarding new carriers when necessary, confirming load details, and proactively managing any risks, delays, or operational issues that may arise during shipments.
- Use load boards such as DAT and Truckstop to source additional carrier capacity when Curri's internal fleet is unavailable, ensuring that customer shipments are fulfilled on time.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer quote requests, providing competitive pricing based on historical market data and real-time conditions to meet customer expectations.
- Negotiate rates with carriers that are fair, competitive, and efficient, balancing cost considerations with urgency and service quality to optimize operational outcomes.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with all stakeholders, including customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams, to ensure everyone is informed and aligned throughout the shipment process.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with high-quality carriers and customers, positioning Curri as a trusted logistics partner and ensuring repeat business and carrier loyalty.
- Provide constructive feedback and ideas to improve tools, processes, and the scalability of Curri's FTL operations, contributing to continuous operational enhancements.
- Support the development and implementation of operational strategies to improve service reliability, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with team members to meet company KPIs related to logistics execution, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that could impact freight operations and carrier relationships.
- Assist in troubleshooting operational issues quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to shipments and customer service.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment by sharing best practices, supporting colleagues, and maintaining a positive, solution-focused attitude.
- Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives to stay current with industry standards and company procedures.
- Support company initiatives aimed at scaling operations and expanding carrier networks to meet growing demand.

- Maintain accurate records of shipments, carrier interactions, and operational metrics to support reporting and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements
- Prior experience working in freight, logistics, or brokerage environments is essential.
- Familiarity with FTL operations and understanding of common freight terminology.
- Hands-on experience using load boards such as DAT and Truckstop to source carrier capacity.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to operate effectively under time pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information.
