Business Developer Manager
Job description
About the role
You are a self-driven hunter who treats every interaction as a revenue conversation rather than a networking event. You will own the complete sponsorship and partnerships pipeline from first outreach through to campaign delivery and renewal. This role requires you to source your own leads, initiate contact with crypto projects and advertisers, and convert interest into paid media engagements without waiting for direction. You will leverage Banter's trusted media channels to pitch high-value integrations that align with live marketing budgets in the Web3 ecosystem. Your success will be measured strictly by closed deals and fulfilled campaigns, not by activity metrics or speculative conversations. You will manage multiple KOL relationships at once, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and reporting standards are met consistently. If you are comfortable operating without a script and building structure as you scale, this position gives you direct influence over how the commercial team is designed and how deals are priced.
Key facts
What you'll do
Own the full sales pipeline by sourcing, qualifying, pitching, negotiating, and closing new crypto project sponsors, KOLs, and affiliates from initial contact through signed agreement without relying on handoffs.
Build and maintain a live prospect list by driving proactive outreach through Telegram BD communities, Crypto Twitter, conference floors, and your existing Rolodex instead of waiting for marketing generated demand.
Manage concurrent KOL deal flows by executing multiple partnerships at once, tracking timelines, deliverables, and communication standards to ensure no campaign is dropped or mismanaged.
Coordinate campaign execution with Banter's content and operations teams to guarantee every sponsor integration is delivered to brief, on schedule, and aligned with the advertiser's stated objectives.
Report campaign performance with precision by delivering detailed post-campaign reports that demonstrate clear ROI and create opportunities for renewal and expansion.
Shape commercial culture in the early stage by contributing directly to the design of pricing models, deal structures, and BD workflows as a founding member of this function.
Hit a hard revenue number by driving toward a consistent $150k-$200k monthly target within six months, with clear 90 day milestones including a live pipeline, first closed deals, and demonstrable revenue momentum.
Maintain strict commercial discipline by earning commission only on fulfilled campaigns, using execution quality as a filter that protects both your reputation and Banter's brand trust.
Leverage an existing audience by activating Banter's media channels and millions of crypto native followers from day one to accelerate deal closure and campaign performance.
Demonstrate ownership of commercial outcomes by tracking commitments, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring deliverables are met without requiring an additional support layer.
Identify new sponsorship opportunities by scanning the crypto landscape for projects and advertisers with active marketing budgets and timely campaign needs.
Negotiate terms that balance advertiser value with sustainable deal structures, ensuring each partnership reinforces long term relationships rather than one off transactions.
Operationalise reporting and forecasting by maintaining accurate CRM hygiene, documenting interactions, and providing clear visibility into pipeline health and revenue progress.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to align content production, campaign timelines, and operational workflows so that every sponsor integration runs smoothly.
Requirements
You have closed $100k+ per month in sponsorship or media revenue at a named Web3 media house or digital marketing agency and can reference CoinTelegraph, Blockworks, BeInCrypto, Lunar Strategy, or similar outlets in a screening call without needing to review your own records.
You possess native Web3 market knowledge, including the ability to distinguish vanity integrations from high converting campaigns and to explain KOL deal structures to practitioners.
You operate with a hunter sales mentality, preferring to self-source leads through conferences, Telegram groups, and personal networks rather than depending on inbound interest.
You have direct experience managing multiple KOL relationships, handling negotiation, briefing, fulfilment tracking, and performance review without needing a separate account management layer.
You bring three to six years of stable commercial tenure in Web3 BD, partnerships, or sales roles, with a track record of building and delivering results over time.
You maintain an active warm book of crypto project contacts who hold marketing budgets typically ranging from $50k to $500k and who view you as a trusted advisor.
You are based in a genuine Web3 hub such as Singapore, Dubai, London, New York, Seoul, Hong Kong, or Capetown, with real access to regional conference circuits and the Telegram and Crypto Twitter communities where deals are sourced.
You are operationally self sufficient, capable of integrating into existing content and admin workflows, managing your own CRM hygiene, and delivering performance reporting to sponsors independently.
You are physically present in Capetown and able to engage with local startup events, investor meetups, and community gatherings on a full time basis.
You are available to commit to a full-time independent contractor schedule that aligns with the revenue and milestone expectations outlined in the role.
Nice to have
Experience negotiating and closing KOL agreements that involve content deliverables, exclusivity clauses, and performance based incentives.
A documented history of activating campaigns across multiple chains or Layer 2 ecosystems with clear examples of audience growth and engagement.
Familiarity with affiliate structures, CPA models, and performance tied compensation arrangements within crypto marketing initiatives.
Hands on experience coordinating with content teams to ensure timely delivery of videos, articles, podcasts, and social activations as part of campaign execution.
A network of crypto advertisers who run recurring brand awareness or performance campaigns and are accustomed to working with BD partners.
Practical notes
This role is based in Capetown and requires full time presence without remote flexibility.
Engagement is structured as a full-time independent contractor arrangement with performance based compensation.
You are expected to consistently hit a $150k-$200k monthly revenue target within six months of joining.
Travel to regional conferences and on site meetings may be required as part of maintaining partner relationships.
No visa sponsorship is provided under this independent contractor engagement.
