About the role
You will own the end-to-end strategic operations lifecycle for the Office of the COO, translating high-level corporate strategy into executable plans that drive measurable business results across Crunchyroll's global media and direct-to-consumer operations. In this highly visible role, you will serve as the primary thought partner to the VP, Strategic Operations, shaping priority setting, resource allocation, and long-term roadmap decisions that define the company's competitive position. You will own the design and execution of cross-functional initiatives that remove execution barriers, streamline decision-making, and create a unified operating rhythm for the leadership organization. This position requires you to build and maintain deep relationships with Finance, People, Legal, and Product teams to ensure alignment on goals, risks, and performance metrics. You will be responsible for developing executive-ready narratives, business cases, and decision frameworks that clarify trade-offs and accelerate leadership choices. Additionally, you will create the governance structures, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that provide real-time visibility into execution, risk, and key dependencies. Ultimately, you will represent the Office of the COO in enterprise forums, driving accountability and follow-through on strategic commitments across the organization.

What you'll do
Develop and maintain the strategic planning and roadmap process for the COO organization, ensuring alignment between corporate priorities and team execution.
Lead the end-to-end OKR lifecycle for the COO office, including goal setting, progress tracking, and quarterly business review preparation.
Create executive-level presentations, business cases, and decision frameworks that clarify options, risks, and recommendations for senior leadership.
Design, implement, and govern dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators that improve visibility into execution, risk, and cross-team dependencies.
Own the planning, resourcing, and execution of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that require alignment across multiple stakeholders.
Identify critical risks, dependencies, and opportunities, and drive alignment and corrective actions to keep strategic priorities on track.
Partner with Finance to develop budgets, forecasts, and resource plans that reflect strategic priorities and operational realities.
Collaborate with People to support workforce planning, talent deployment, and operational headcount strategies.
Represent the Office of the COO in cross-functional forums, ensuring alignment, transparency, and accountability for shared objectives.
Work closely with the VP, Strategic Operations to define evolving priorities, manage executive communications, and oversee special projects with broad impact.
Establish clear governance structures and operating cadences to improve decision speed and execution quality across the organization.
Translate complex data sets into concise insights and recommendations that influence strategic and operational decision-making.
Champion a culture of accountability, clarity, and continuous improvement within the COO organization and broader cross-functional teams.
Ensure that all strategic initiatives are linked to measurable outcomes, enabling data-driven adjustments and long-term business planning.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in management consulting and/or strategic operations, corporate strategy, or business transformation, with experience in media, streaming, entertainment, or direct-to-consumer subscription businesses.
Strong executive communication skills with experience developing C-suite presentations, business cases, and decision frameworks that withstand rigorous scrutiny.
Experience leading strategic planning, OKRs, quarterly business reviews, and executive operating cadences in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.
Exceptional analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations and influence decision-making at the highest levels.
A structured approach to problem-solving, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, synthesize complex information, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
MBA preferred, or equivalent experience in strategy, consulting, or operational leadership roles that demonstrate similar scope and impact.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience working with enterprise-grade data tools, reporting platforms, and modeling techniques to support business decisions.
Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential information and sensitive executive initiatives.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture across globally distributed teams.
Nice to have
Experience in direct-to-consumer media, streaming, or entertainment subscription businesses and understanding of their unique operational challenges.
Background in managing budgets, forecasts, and financial models in a fast-growth environment.
Familiarity with content acquisition, localization, or global distribution workflows in media organizations.
Experience implementing collaboration tools, operating cadences, and governance frameworks at scale.
Practical notes
This role is available in a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week onsite at the Los Angeles, California office.
Travel is not expected as part of this role.
