About the role
This role is for a senior product leader to shape the future of Cribl AI. You will define and drive the strategy for our AI-powered observability solutions, empowering platform engineering and SRE teams to dramatically improve their incident investigations and data management. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end lifecycle of Cribl AI features, from initial concept validation through to widespread production adoption. You will act as the critical bridge between complex customer problems and our technical execution teams. This position requires a strategic thinker who is comfortable navigating ambiguity and making decisive product choices. You will leverage data and user feedback to continuously iterate on the product experience. Ultimately, your work will determine how Cribl leverages artificial intelligence to deliver tangible operational value to our customers.

What you'll do
- Conduct in-depth customer discovery interviews to uncover latent needs and validate hypotheses for new AI observability capabilities.
- Synthesize qualitative feedback and quantitative usage data to construct detailed user journey maps and pinpoint critical friction points in the workflow.
- Architect the core workflows for AI-driven insights, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into the existing Cribl platform without disrupting established user patterns.
- Define the minimum viable product (MVP) scope for AI features, balancing ambition with speed to market to capture early adoption opportunities.
- Analyze product performance using a defined set of success metrics, identifying root causes for underperformance and prescribing actionable optimizations.
- Translate ambiguous business objectives into clear, testable product hypotheses that guide the engineering team toward measurable outcomes.
- Develop rigorous product experiments, including A/B tests and feature rollouts, to validate the impact of new AI functionalities on user behavior.
- Maintain a deep technical understanding of the underlying AI models and data pipelines to facilitate effective communication with the engineering leadership.
- Serve as the primary expert on product capabilities, preparing detailed documentation and presentations for both internal stakeholders and key external clients.
- Partner with marketing to develop go-to-market narratives that clearly articulate the differentiated value of Cribl AI in solving real-world observability challenges.
- Evaluate emerging AI research and open-source models to assess potential for integration into the Cribl data platform.
- Define and manage the product roadmap for Cribl AI, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term strategic goals and market positioning.
- Establish governance processes for prioritizing AI features, weighing factors such as technical complexity, customer demand, and operational cost.
- Represent Cribl AI at industry conferences and virtual forums to gather competitive intelligence and establish thought leadership.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in product management, with a significant portion focused on AI, machine learning, or data analytics products.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling complex software products in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Deep understanding of observability, telemetry data, SIEM, and cloud-native architectures, including how data is ingested, processed, and visualized.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates technical proficiency.
- Demonstrated experience working with distributed systems and major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including their core services and pricing models.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of breaking down complex problems into manageable components and drawing logical conclusions from data.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience managing multiple competing priorities and stakeholders while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience with data strategy, data tiering, and cost control for large-scale data platforms, specifically regarding how to balance performance with budget.
- Familiarity with NetOps observability trends, SOC modernization initiatives, or DORA compliance metrics and how they influence tooling decisions.
- Experience in industries with strict regulatory or compliance requirements, such as Healthcare, Financial Services, or Government, where data sensitivity is paramount.
