About the role
You will act as the primary quality control arm of the Regional Corporate Office, embedding the company ethos of trust and collective ownership into every construction site you oversee. This role requires you to break from tradition and deliver the impossible by ensuring that quality is not an afterthought but the foundation of daily operations. You will manage a portfolio of high-visibility projects, balancing technical rigor with practical execution to meet client expectations. Your work will directly influence the industry by setting a new standard for reliability and excellence in Specialty Welding, Mechanical Work, and Towers. You will be responsible for translating corporate quality standards into actionable site-level practices that drive sustainable production. Ultimately, you will serve as the bridge between strategic corporate objectives and the on-ground reality of construction integrity.

What you'll do
Investigate customer specifications to reverse-engineer the exact strategy required to meet their stringent requirements before construction begins.
Oversee site quality control staff with a focus on mentorship, ensuring that every team member understands the criticality of their role in the final product.
Hire, train, and evaluate staff using a data-driven approach to identify skill gaps and elevate the overall capability of the field team.
Regularly analyze quality data streams, interpreting complex datasets to suggest actionable improvements that enhance production efficiency.
Manage the log of quality reports and all supporting documentation, maintaining the integrity of the QCM (NBIC / ASME Quality Control Manual) and QSM (Quality Systems Manual).
Assists Site QCM in generating Site Quality Plans for New Construction & T/A Projects, coordinating directly with the Client for review and approval.
Conduct site audits with uncompromising attention to detail, then communicate findings transparently to Clients, the Director of Quality Control, and Optimal Senior Management.
Review bid documents through a quality lens, identifying testing requirements and collaborating with Estimators to ensure quality needs are financially accounted for.
Coordinate with Human Resources to manage welder testing and qualification, ensuring records are transmitted accurately to Site QCMs for compliance.
Work closely with Client Welding Engineers and QA to review and approve qualified WPS/PQRs, ensuring new procedures meet exacting client and code standards.
Act decisively on NonConformances (NCRs), driving closure for all customer complaints and ensuring lessons learned are institutionalized.
Conduct inspections that provide accurate, real-time data, serving as a trusted advisor on mechanical integrity and critical equipment decisions.
Hold responsibility for monitoring internal and external quality issues, utilizing database reporting, control charts, and statistical methods to identify trends.
Communicate proactively with team members through safety briefings, workplace instructions, and team meetings to ensure alignment on project quality goals.
Requirements
Possess a minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Site Quality Control Manager, demonstrating a proven track record in high-stakes industrial environments.
Maintain current certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or hold API 570 and/or API 510 credentials, which are non-negotiable for this position.
Show proficiency in the development and execution of NBIC R and S Stamp repair plans, coordinating seamlessly with the assigned Authorized Inspector for approval.
Have extensive experience in developing and implementing Site Quality Plans that align with both client expectations and corporate standards.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of quality control methodologies, industry codes, and the standards that govern compliance in construction.
Exhibit excellent numerical skills, particularly in data analysis and statistical methods, to interpret quality metrics and drive decisions.
Be proficient in the use of MS Office and databases to manage documentation, track quality metrics, and generate reports.
