About the role
Optimal Field Services, a Crest Industries company, is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the central hub for all project timing, owning the development, implementation, and maintenance of detailed schedules that drive execution. You will partner directly with project teams to translate scope into actionable timelines, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of scheduling logic and the ability to analyze complex project information to identify constraints and opportunities. You will be responsible for communicating schedule updates and critical path information to stakeholders at all levels. This position requires a high level of integrity and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in optimizing project performance by ensuring the schedule accurately reflects the current reality and future plan. Success in this role means actively training and mentoring junior staff to elevate the entire team's capabilities.

What you'll do
Coordinate with project teams to develop schedules for various projects and ensure alignment with client objectives.
Create master project schedules that outline activity durations, dependencies, and milestones to provide a clear project roadmap.
Update all project schedules on a regular basis to reflect the latest project status and any approved changes.
Implement scheduling strategies to package logical relationships and ensure the integrity of the project timeline.
Identify the critical path within project schedules to highlight tasks that directly impact the project completion date.
Produce look ahead schedules that detail near-term activities to facilitate resource allocation and team preparation.
Enter progress data into the schedule to maintain an accurate record of work completed versus the plan.
Integrate field change orders into the schedule to account for scope adjustments and their impact on the timeline.
Optimize project schedules as required to reflect progress, manage delays, and accommodate plan changes effectively.
Cross-check and verify the accuracy of schedules to ensure they are reliable tools for project management.
Produce resource histograms to visualize the allocation of labor and equipment across project timelines.
Generate schedule reports that provide insights into project status, risks, and upcoming activities for stakeholder communication.
Perform take-offs from project plans and conduct cost analysis to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Apply industry standards and codes to all job specifications, ensuring calculations and drawings meet required compliance.
Train junior schedulers on scheduling software and best practices to build a strong and knowledgeable team.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred for this position.
Candidates must have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Prior experience in Turn Around Environments is mandatory for success in this role.
You must possess 3+ years of experience with Primavera P6 software.
A minimum of 3+ years of general scheduling experience is required.
You must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
Reliability is key, and you must be able to work independently with limited direct supervision.
Strong analytical skills are necessary to assess project timelines and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Effective communication skills are required to interact with team members and management professionally.
The role demands the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Attention to detail is critical to ensure schedule accuracy and data integrity.
You must be comfortable working within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Willingness to adapt to changing project scopes and priorities is essential for long-term success.
Nice to have
Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is preferred.
Knowledge of specific scheduling software beyond Primavera P6 is beneficial.
Understanding of safety regulations and compliance within the energy sector is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with offshore or marine project scheduling is a plus.
Experience with cost scheduling integration is preferred.

This is a full-time maintenance position based in Port Lavaca, Texas.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship at this time.
