What you'll do

• Execute the quality control agenda for the facility in accordance with established standards and operational directives.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight for all inspection activities spanning the receiving, pre-treatment, kettle, and post-dip cleaning stages.
• Interpret and apply quality procedures, inspection steps, and documentation requirements to ensure full regulatory adherence.
• Monitor key process variables in real time to identify and correct surface preparation or coating anomalies as they occur.
• Lead the completion of chemical analysis to verify the performance and stability of pre-processing tanks.
• Manage nonconformance reports by investigating root causes and driving corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate with DIS-TRAN Steel to resolve cross-facility quality issues and align on quality requirements.
• Conduct and oversee quality audits, including preparation for hosting customer or third-party audit activities.
• Track quality trends and defect types to identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to address equipment or process conditions affecting coating integrity.
• Approve final product verification and determine the acceptability of repairs or touch-ups against specification requirements.
• Implement improvements to reduce rework and touch-ups while supporting continuous improvement objectives.
• Ensure all QC work adheres to site safety standards for chemicals, heat exposure, and material handling protocols.
• Safely navigate production environments and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment at all times.

Requirements

• Five or more years of QC/QA experience in galvanizing or industrial coatings, with leadership background.
• Demonstrated understanding of ASTM galvanizing standards and the ability to apply them in a production setting.
• Ability to read technical drawings, follow specifications, and use inspection equipment accurately and consistently.
• Proven participation in quality audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up activities.
• Capacity to lead and develop QC Technicians through training on inspection techniques and visual standards.
• Familiarity with measurement tools and their application in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain inspection integrity across every process stage without exception.
• Physical ability to perform frequent walking throughout production areas as required by operational needs.
• Willingness to work in conditions involving exposure to heat, steam, and chemical tanks.
• Commitment to using appropriate personal protective equipment to ensure personal safety and compliance.
• Reliability in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills to interface with internal teams and external partners.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements.
