About the role
The hire will lead DIS-TRAN Steel's maintenance and reliability efforts to ensure safe, efficient, and dependable plant operations at the Pineville, Louisiana location. This role requires ownership of the maintenance function, driving preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. The Manager will oversee maintenance personnel and manage planning and CMMS processes with a focus on reliability centered maintenance. Working cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, procurement, and stockroom teams is a core part of the position. The hire will establish performance metrics and lead root cause analysis to solve complex operational issues. They will manage the maintenance budget and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, control costs, and support operational excellence. Success in this role means partnering with leadership to align maintenance strategy with business goals. What you'll do
Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy to maximize equipment reliability and safety across all plant operations.
Lead a team of maintenance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development to improve individual and group performance.
Drive the implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
Own and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure accurate data, work order management, and effective planning.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure maintenance effectiveness, safety, and operational efficiency.
Perform detailed root cause analysis on equipment failures to identify trends and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
Manage the maintenance budget, control costs, and ensure resources are allocated to support operational priorities.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve equipment design, reliability, and maintainability through practical solutions.
Partner with production, quality, procurement, and stockroom teams to align maintenance activities with production schedules and inventory management.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives that streamline processes, enhance safety, and support the company's operational excellence goals.
Lead reliability-centered maintenance practices to ensure the right resources are applied to the most critical equipment.
Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and respect within the maintenance organization and across the plant.
Requirements
Must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in maintenance management or a similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Must have experience overseeing maintenance personnel and showing a history of developing teams to meet demanding performance standards.
Must possess a strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques and how to apply them in a manufacturing setting.
Must have hands-on experience managing and optimizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) platforms.
Must be skilled in establishing and tracking key performance indicators related to maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Must have a demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action initiatives.
Must have experience managing maintenance budgets and controlling costs without compromising safety or reliability.
Must be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality, procurement, and stockroom.
Must be able to lead continuous improvement projects and apply structured problem-solving methods to enhance reliability and safety.

Experience in a steel, manufacturing, or heavy industry environment.
Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and related methodologies.

Experience with budgeting and financial management in a maintenance context.
