As an Insulator joining our field operations team, you will own the complete execution of thermal and acoustical insulation systems in demanding industrial environments, directly impacting the safety, efficiency, and longevity of critical infrastructure. You will partner closely with project managers and tradespeople to ensure every installation is executed with precision, adhering strictly to engineering specifications and regulatory codes from start to finish. What you'll do

Determine the type and amount of insulation required by interpreting detailed blueprints, job specifications, and technical instructions for each assignment.

Measure and cut insulation materials to exact specifications using hand tools and insulation knives, ensuring precise fits for pipes, ducts, and equipment.

Select appropriate insulation types and materials, including fiberglass, foam, mineral wool, and calcium silicate, based on temperature, moisture, and acoustic requirements.

Fabricate insulation covers, jackets, and pre-formed components to match the unique dimensions of piping systems and mechanical equipment.

Fit, wrap, and secure insulation around structural surfaces and systems using staples, wire, tape, cement, and mastic to create a durable and airtight seal.

Apply vapor barriers and protective coatings to insulation assemblies to enhance durability, prevent moisture intrusion, and extend service life.

Install insulation on a wide range of systems, including industrial piping, ductwork, boilers, tanks, and other mechanical equipment in both new construction and maintenance settings.

Utilize scaffolding, ladders, and aerial lifts to safely access high elevations and confined spaces while maintaining strict adherence to fall protection protocols.

Inspect completed insulation work to verify compliance with specifications, ensuring proper thickness, alignment, and overall installation quality.

Remove and replace damaged or outdated insulation materials during maintenance projects, managing waste disposal in accordance with environmental guidelines.

Secure insulation with metal bands, wire ties, and adhesive systems to ensure stability under vibration, thermal cycling, and operational conditions.

Collaborate with project supervisors and other trades to coordinate workflow, manage material inventory, and maintain project schedules.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area to minimize hazards and support efficient workflow across diverse job sites.

Document work activities and communicate any issues or deviations from plans to ensure timely resolution and accurate project records.

Requirements

Must hold a valid driver's license or Identification Card to travel to job sites and transport tools and materials independently.

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and written instructions accurately to determine correct installation methods.

Must possess the ability to calculate measurements, take offsets, and use basic math for material estimation and fitting.

Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in insulation installation or a closely related trade role is mandatory for consideration.

Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination to ensure fitness for the demands of the work.

Must hold a valid TWIC Card to access secure industrial facilities and work on regulated sites.

Able to work safely at heights and in challenging environments, requiring physical stamina, balance, and attention to detail.
