About the role
You will own the full accountability for production execution and operational performance within the DIS-TRAN Steel facility in Pineville, driving the plant toward world-class manufacturing excellence. You will partner closely with leadership to translate strategic business objectives into actionable production plans that align resources, processes, and people. This role requires you to own the end-to-end management of the production floor, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and customer commitments. You will act as the primary decision-maker for daily production activities, solving complex operational problems in real time with data-driven insights. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, where every team member is empowered to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions. You will serve as the key liaison between production, maintenance, logistics, and corporate leadership to ensure seamless coordination. You will be responsible for mentoring and developing supervisors and operators to elevate team capabilities and engagement. Ultimately, you will own the metrics that matter, delivering reliable, on-time, and cost-effective production results that support the long-term growth of DIS-TRAN Steel.

What you'll do
You will analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement, translating insights into actionable plans. You will schedule and prioritize production orders, balancing capacity, material availability, and customer requirements to optimize flow. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, remove obstacles, and keep production on schedule. You will implement and monitor key performance indicators to track productivity, quality, and safety outcomes against targets. You will lead root cause investigations for production deviations, ensuring corrective actions are timely and effective. You will standardize work procedures, ensuring that all activities are conducted consistently, safely, and in compliance with DIS-TRAN standards. You will oversee inventory management practices to support production needs while minimizing waste and downtime. You will facilitate training sessions for operators and supervisors to ensure competency and compliance with updated procedures. You will drive lean manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and improve overall equipment effectiveness. You will maintain strong communication with sales and customer service to manage expectations and align on delivery commitments. You will support the implementation of new technologies and systems to enhance production visibility and control. You will ensure all production activities align with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies. You will lead continuous improvement projects using structured problem-solving methods to achieve operational excellence. You will prepare and review production reports to provide accurate, timely information for decision-making.
Requirements
You must have a proven track record of production management experience in a manufacturing environment. You must demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to supervise, coach, and motivate teams effectively. You must have experience using data and metrics to drive decisions and improve production performance. You must possess excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address complex operational challenges. You must have a deep understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a zero-incident workplace. You must be able to interpret production schedules, process flows, and standard operating procedures. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. You must be proficient in Microsoft Office and production management tools. You must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, to meet production demands and business needs. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident eligible for employment in the United States. You must pass a background check and meet all pre-employment screening requirements. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related field is preferred. You must have experience working in heavy manufacturing or industrial settings. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties in a manufacturing environment.
Practical notes
You must be available to work regular full-time hours, including overtime as required by production demands. This role does not involve international travel at this time.
