You will perform required operator maintenance on fork trucks, conducting pre and post operational checks to identify any issues and maintain peak mechanical reliability. Your ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules is required, allowing you to proactively manage your workflow and adapt to shifting production priorities. You will actively participate in the continuous improvement of internal transfer procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Crest family of companies. What you'll do

Execute precise operational sequences using a forklift to transport materials across the manufacturing floor, optimizing efficiency and safety.

Apply a working knowledge of material handling methodologies to ensure that steel products are moved with care and accuracy.

Implement banding and palletizing strategies to secure loads, reducing the risk of damage during internal transfer or truck loading.

Load material onto trucks in a timely and organized manner, coordinating with logistics teams to meet shipping deadlines.

Perform required operator maintenance on fork trucks, including inspections and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Read and interpret typed reports and schedules to prioritize tasks and manage workflow according to production demands.

Monitor inventory levels during transfer operations, identifying discrepancies and communicating them to the relevant team members.

Utilize a systematic approach to stacking and organizing materials, ensuring stability and compliance with facility safety standards.

Support the flexibility of the production schedule by adapting to urgent transfer requests and changing operational priorities.

Collaborate with peers to maintain a clean and orderly work environment, promoting safety and operational efficiency.

Verify the condition of materials upon transfer, noting any damages or irregularities for appropriate follow-up action.

Requirements

You must possess a current certification or documented experience operating a forklift in an industrial setting, demonstrating strict adherence to safety standards.

A working knowledge of material handling, banding, palletizing, and loading material onto trucks is preferred, and you must be able to quickly apply these concepts in a practical environment.

You must be able to read and interpret typed reports and schedules accurately, as this skill is essential for performing required operator duties.

You must be able to lift and maneuver moderate weights associated with steel products and handling equipment, ensuring your safety and the safety of others.

You must comply with all company safety rules and regulations, maintaining a zero-tolerance attitude toward unsafe practices.

You must have a valid driver's license or equivalent identification to operate company equipment and access restricted areas.

You must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check as required by company policy and regulatory standards.

You must be able to work regular full-time hours as scheduled, including potential overtime during peak production periods.
