About the role
In this pivotal role, you will act as a strategic ally to the Chief Data Officer (CDO), facilitating the connection between overarching organizational strategies and their practical implementation. Your responsibilities will include designing and overseeing operational frameworks that enable the Data organization to grow effectively, ensuring that alignment, accountability, and decision-making processes are clear and efficient across various teams.

What you'll do
- Develop and uphold the operational cadence for the CDO's organization, which includes monitoring and evaluating key performance indicators to assess progress and effectiveness.
- Spearhead strategic and operational planning initiatives, ensuring that the CDO can successfully oversee the performance of large teams.
- Oversee intricate, cross-departmental projects from their initial stages through to completion, fostering consensus among senior leadership throughout the process.
- Partner with Finance, Human Resources, and Administrative teams to implement organizational changes and enhance improvement initiatives.
- Create and execute internal communication strategies and employee engagement programs that keep teams aligned and motivated towards common goals.
- Organize and facilitate essential leadership meetings, ensuring that objectives are clear, action items are followed up on, and the CDO's priorities are effectively represented.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CDO and their direct reports, helping to identify operational challenges and proposing innovative approaches to improve workflows.
- Foster a culture of accountability and transparency within the Data organization, ensuring that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Analyze data trends and metrics to inform decision-making processes and provide insights that drive organizational success.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure that data-driven strategies are effectively integrated into the broader organizational framework.
- Mentor and guide team members to enhance their skills and foster professional growth within the Data organization.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in senior executive or business management roles, particularly within a data-driven environment.
- A proven track record of achieving results in a Data organization, demonstrating a strong understanding of data-related processes.
- Experience in organizing and directing multiple departments effectively, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
- Ability to define and implement high-level strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- Strong analytical skills, with the capability to utilize data for complex decision-making processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- A versatile work style that adapts to changing priorities and demands, ensuring high productivity.

Practical notes
Compensation for this role varies based on geographic location and is structured according to four U.S. pay zones:
- US Zone 1 (Bay Area): $188,480 - $235,600
- US Zone 2 (NYC and Seattle Metro): $180,120 - $225,150
- US Zone 3 (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CO, CT, DC, GA, IL, MA, MD, OR, RI, TX, VA): $167,200 - $209,000
- US Zone 4 (AK, AZ, DE, FL, HI, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NV, NH, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, UT, VT, WI): $155,420 - $194,275
In addition to base salary, total rewards include bonuses, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive health benefits.
