What you'll do

• Negotiate and finalize power supply agreements for both new and existing data center locations, ensuring optimal terms and conditions.
• Work closely with utility companies and regional grid operators to guarantee consistent and reliable energy delivery to our facilities.
• Conduct thorough analyses of regional energy markets to identify opportunities for cost savings and to enhance our sustainability initiatives.
• Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and manage the permitting processes associated with energy infrastructure development.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and construction, to ensure that energy availability aligns with the timelines for data center deployments.
• Monitor and assess energy consumption trends to inform procurement strategies and operational efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the energy sector to facilitate ongoing negotiations and partnerships.
• Prepare and present reports on energy procurement activities, market trends, and compliance status to senior management.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in energy procurement, utility management, or the development of power infrastructure, ideally with a focus on data centers or similar environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regional power markets, including grid interconnection processes and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven track record of managing complex negotiations with utility providers and energy suppliers, demonstrating strong contract management skills.
• Exceptional analytical abilities to assess energy pricing models, load requirements, and market dynamics.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
