The Senior Manager, Technical Accounting will report to the Senior Director of Technical Accounting and own the technical accounting support for complex transactions and strategic initiatives. This role will ensure strict compliance with accounting standards, provide timely technical accounting guidance, and support the company's financial reporting process, technical accounting, and reporting function. You will prepare detailed technical accounting memos, research new standards, and act as a key liaison with external auditors and valuation specialists.

What you'll do
Provide technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions and new business initiatives, such as debt/equity financing, customer contracts, business combinations, and investment accounting, including embedded derivatives analysis.
Prepare technical accounting memos for complex transactions, including but not limited to ASC 842, ASC 360, ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 470, ASC 718, ASC 815, and ASC 323.
Research, interpret, and implement accounting standards and regulations (GAAP, IFRS).
Develop, write, and maintain accounting policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and business needs.
Work closely with other departments, including Revenue, Fixed Assets, Leasing, FP&A, Tax, Legal, to provide integrated accounting expertise and support.
Serve as a liaison and coordinate with external auditors on technical accounting matters, ensuring clarity and timely responses.
Collaborate with external valuation specialists to ensure complex transaction valuations are completed on a timely basis, managing all inputs used in those valuations such as derivatives valuation and special transaction valuations.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting and finance team through mentorship and cross-functional cooperation.
Lead, mentor, and develop team members by providing training and professional development opportunities focused on technical accounting excellence.
Monitor the issuance of new FASB pronouncements, advise management of trends and changes in reporting requirements, and recommend and implement the best approach for any changes in reporting.
Manage and perform ad hoc accounting research that supports accounting consultations for business transactions across the enterprise.
Leverage IT tools and systems to automate and streamline accounting workflows for efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness in a high-growth environment.
Work with the internal control and SOX teams to implement accounting policies and ensure compliance with internal controls, mitigating risks across financial processes.
Assist other teams with ad hoc accounting and reporting needs, balancing strategic initiatives with timely execution.
Support a collaborative finance culture focused on value creation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across CoreWeave's global operations.
Requirements
A master's or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and CPA designation is required.
8+ years of experience in leading technical accounting roles, including public accounting (Big Four experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements across multiple standards.
Proven ability to research and interpret complex accounting issues and deliver clear, actionable guidance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all deliverables.
Experience with ERP systems such as Netsuite and financial reporting tools, including close integration with billing and transaction processing systems.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple prior engagements under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing finance teams, including mentoring, performance management, and career development.
Proficiency in preparing technical accounting documentation, policy manuals, and process frameworks that are clear, comprehensive, and auditable.
Experience working with external auditors, valuation specialists, and legal counsel to resolve complex accounting matters efficiently.
Knowledge of emerging technology and cloud finance models relevant to high-growth, technology-driven companies.
Commitment to maintaining up-to-date technical accounting expertise through ongoing learning, professional certifications, and industry engagement.
Strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive financial information and cross-functional issues.
