About the role
Bamboohr is seeking a Human Resources Director to lead its people operations from the Hattiesburg, Mississippi office. This full time position oversees workforce planning, employee relations, compensation strategy, and organizational development across the entire company. The director will shape HR policies that support the company's long term growth and culture while ensuring strict compliance with all applicable labor regulations and reporting obligations. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role serves as the primary architect of Bamboohr's human capital strategy and plays a central part in driving organizational effectiveness at every level.

What you'll do
Direct the full cycle of talent acquisition, from sourcing qualified candidates through onboarding new hires into Bamboohr.
Design and administer compensation and benefits programs that align with current market benchmarks and broader company objectives.
Oversee all employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and formal disciplinary procedures when needed.
Lead workforce planning efforts to ensure that staffing levels meet both current and future business demands.
Develop and implement comprehensive HR policies and employee handbooks that reflect federal and state employment law requirements.
Manage the annual budgeting process for the human resources department and allocate financial resources effectively across programs.
Coordinate leadership development and succession planning initiatives to build a strong internal pipeline of future managers.
Supervise HR team members and provide ongoing mentorship, coaching, and constructive performance feedback to all direct reports.
Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion programs that foster a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive workplace culture throughout the organization.
Serve as the primary liaison between Bamboohr and external legal counsel on all employment law and compliance matters.
Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies tailored to each business unit.
Oversee the administration of employee training programs and professional development opportunities across the entire organization.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required for this position.
A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in human resources, with at least five years in a leadership capacity.
Demonstrated experience managing a team of HR professionals and overseeing the full scope of departmental operations.
Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, and related workplace regulations.
Strong proficiency in human resources information systems, payroll platforms, and other core HR technology tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to executive audiences.
Proven track record of designing and executing workforce strategies that directly support organizational growth and scalability.
Experience in a full time, on site management role within a mid sized or larger organization.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with the highest level of discretion and integrity.
Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret workforce data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Nice to have
Master's degree in human resources, organizational development, or business administration is preferred for this role.
Prior experience working in the financial services or fintech sector is a strong advantage for candidates.
Certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources or an equivalent professional credential is valued.
Background in managing HR operations across multiple office locations or across different states and regions.
Familiarity with change management methodologies and organizational restructuring initiatives in a corporate environment.
