About the role
Conga is seeking an FP&A Manager to partner with our Product and R&D organizations. You will manage financial modeling, monthly closes, and reporting while providing strategic insights to guide product roadmap prioritization and pricing decisions. In this capacity, you will act as a key business partner to engineering and product management, translating technical initiatives into clear financial implications. You will own the analysis necessary to ensure that investment in research and development aligns with corporate profitability goals and long term value creation. The role requires a proactive mindset to challenge assumptions and build scenarios that support data driven decision making. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial models that underpin major strategic choices affecting the technology portfolio. Success in this position will be measured by the ability to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable financial guidance that influences product strategy.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Maintain corporate financial model inputs and lead monthly financial close processes with a focus on R&D cost tracking.
- Develop and present financial analyses, dashboards, and reports to executive leadership and the board using clear narratives and visual design.
- Collaborate with R&D leadership to improve the accuracy of budgets and forecasts by incorporating technical milestones and resource plans.
- Conduct pricing analysis and support strategic product roadmap initiatives by evaluating margin impact and customer value metrics.
- Proactively identify business challenges and propose scalable financial solutions that address capacity and investment tradeoffs.
- Drive variance analysis against plan, explaining differences between actual results and forecasts for research and development spend.
- Partner with finance and product teams to define key performance indicators that track the efficiency of development efforts.
- Serve as the financial expert in cross functional discussions, ensuring that decisions are grounded in rigorous quantitative assessment.
- Build scenario models that test the financial implications of alternative product features and engineering approaches.
- Own documentation related to financial assumptions, data sources, and methodology to ensure transparency and repeatability.
- Support ad hoc analyses required for board meetings, investor updates, and strategic planning sessions.
- Facilitate workshops with technical and product stakeholders to align on priorities and validate underlying cost assumptions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate strategy, or a related field with a demonstrated track record of delivering accurate financial analysis.
- Proven history of supporting R&D or Product organizations within a SaaS company, showing comfort with technology driven investment decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling, dashboard creation, and complex calculations without reliance on manual workarounds.
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and operational principles, including the interpretation of income statements and balance sheets.
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience working with large data sets and translating raw information into concise insights for non financial audiences.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment when handling sensitive financial information.
Nice to have
- Hands on experience with FP&A software such as Adaptive Insights or Anaplan to streamline planning and consolidation activities.
- Proficiency in BI tools like Power BI or Tableau and Salesforce reporting for creating interactive visualizations.
- Experience facilitating due diligence or corporate development activities like M&A or capital raises, particularly in technology transactions.
