What you'll do

Shape legal frameworks that protect innovation and ensure compliance for Conga's connected commerce platform.

Review product-related marketing materials and customer communications to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Advise on ethical and legal considerations for AI and emerging technologies to support safe innovation.

Ensure open-source software licensing compliance to support secure and efficient development practices.

Help shape legal tech product direction through hands-on feedback and creative, solutions-oriented collaboration.

Manage outside counsel and legal budgets to maintain effective and efficient legal operations.

Requirements

The posting states a bachelor's degree requirement. Minimum 10 years of legal experience, including significant in-house counsel experience at a SaaS or technology company.

Admission to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state or the District of Columbia.

Active bar membership in the position's jurisdiction or eligibility for in-house counsel registration, if applicable.

Deep experience in product counseling, intellectual property law, and global privacy law.

Proven ability to advise on AI governance, open-source compliance, and emerging technology risk.

Strong experience drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and privacy-related terms.

Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships with Security, Compliance, IT, Marketing, and HR.

Experience developing and delivering legal training to cross-functional stakeholders.

Experience managing legal budgets and outside counsel relationships.

Nice to have

Certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or similar data privacy credentials.

Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies and responsible AI frameworks.

Knowledge of the NIST AI RMF and responsible AI principles.

Familiarity with open-source licensing and compliance best practices.

Practical notes

This is a hybrid role based in the United States, with work locations in Boston, MA and Houston, TX.

U.S. base salary range is $209,780 to $356,630.

Data interviews commonly include a SQL or coding exercise, a statistics question, and a case study. Candidates may be asked to design a metric, interpret an experiment, or build a small model. Some companies give a take-home analysis. Expect questions about past projects and the business impact of your work. Interviewers often evaluate how you communicate uncertainty and business impact, not only the math. Bringing a clean write-up of a past analysis to the interview is well received.
