About the role
You will own the full delivery lifecycle for a critical banking and payments modernization program based in Miami, Florida. This role combines technical project management with hands-on business analysis, requiring deep conceptual fluency in cloud, API, and event-driven architectures. You will translate complex stakeholder needs into clear technical requirements and oversee execution across distributed engineering teams. A key part of your responsibility is managing the payments domain specifics, including flows, integrations, and compliance considerations. You will coordinate cross-team dependencies and ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery. Your work will directly influence the design of modernized payment systems and their future state. You will act as the central communication hub for stakeholders, maintaining clarity and traceability from requirements to deployed solutions.

What you'll do
Define and drive the end-to-end delivery plan for the banking and payments program, coordinating schedules, milestones, and cross-team dependencies.
Manage scope, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution while maintaining clear visibility for stakeholders and leadership.
Run agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the backlog remains well-groomed and actionable.
Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements through direct engagement with business and technical stakeholders.
Translate business needs into precise technical user stories with robust acceptance criteria in collaboration with the technical lead.
Map and document business processes, system interactions, and payment flows using diagrams, sequence diagrams, BPMN, and process maps.
Partner with engineering to define how systems and APIs should interact, focusing on cloud, API, and event-driven integration patterns.
Maintain end-to-end traceability between requirements, designs, test cases, and delivered functionality.
Report status, blockers, and timeline impacts clearly and proactively to stakeholders and executive sponsors.
Leverage delivery tooling such as Jira and Confluence to track progress, manage artifacts, and ensure auditability.
Apply judgment when using AI tools to support requirements drafting, documentation, and analysis while validating accuracy and relevance.
Requirements
Bring a minimum of 6+ years of combined experience in project management and business analysis roles.
Include at least 2+ years of hands-on experience working on banking or payments modernization programs.
Demonstrate proven project delivery management experience within Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban environments.
Perform effectively as a technical business analyst, capable of holding detailed technical conversations with engineering teams.
Show strong domain expertise in banking and payments processing, including familiarity with standards like ISO 20022 and legacy formats such as FAIM and Fedwire.
Exhibit conceptual fluency with modern cloud, microservices, APIs, and event-driven system patterns, even without direct coding responsibilities.
Possess strong capabilities in requirements documentation and modeling, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and flow diagrams.
Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, with clear written and verbal communication abilities.
Be hands-on with delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.
Nice to have
Show exposure to cloud-based platforms and modern delivery practices aligned with DevOps principles.
Have experience with diagramming and modeling tools such as Lucidchart, draw.io, Miro, or BPMN authoring platforms.
Bring a background in software engineering or quality assurance prior to moving into project management or business analysis.
Hold Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or project management credentials like PMP or PRINCE2.
Possess deeper payments experience in areas such as wire transfers, real-time payments, clearing, settlement, or regulatory and compliance reporting.

This is a hybrid position based in Miami, Florida. Candidates must currently reside in the Miami area.
The engagement is structured as a long-term contract with high impact and autonomy.
