What you'll do
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Perform detailed testing procedures, including mechanical, electrical, and chemical tests, to assess product performance and safety.
- Document inspection results meticulously, preparing reports that highlight findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in internal audits and assist in external audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance documentation, including inspection protocols, test plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Analyze data from inspections and tests to identify trends and areas for improvement, contributing to the development of quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide training and support to junior quality assurance staff, fostering a culture of quality awareness and continuous learning within the team.
- Engage in cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives, ensuring that quality considerations are integrated into all stages of product development.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality assurance to enhance the effectiveness of the quality management system.
- Assist in the development of quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on quality performance across the organization.
- Act as a liaison between quality assurance and other departments, ensuring clear communication and collaboration on quality-related matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
- Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and testing software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions based on findings.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all aspects of work.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean is a plus.
Nice to have
- Certification as a Quality Auditor (CQA) or Quality Engineer (CQE) from a recognized professional organization.
- Experience with electronic quality management systems (eQMS) and data analysis software.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and practices in quality assurance.
- Previous experience in a regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals or aerospace, is advantageous.
