What you'll do
- Conduct thorough inspections of aviation and infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to address any issues or discrepancies found during inspections.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, recommendations, and necessary corrective actions.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Evaluate materials and workmanship to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines, ensuring inspections are conducted in a timely manner.
- Participate in project meetings to provide updates on inspection findings and discuss potential impacts on project timelines.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance inspection processes and methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams regarding civil engineering practices and standards.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Conduct field tests and evaluations as necessary to assess the quality of materials and construction methods.
- Support the development of training materials and programs for junior inspectors and other team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil inspection, with a focus on aviation and infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and software for documentation and reporting.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites within the designated regions.
- Certification as an inspector (e.g., NICET, ACI, or equivalent) is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in construction.
- Previous experience working on airport or aviation-related projects.
- Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.

- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software for reviewing engineering plans.
