Senior Frontend Engineer - Growth (USA Only at Close.
About the role
You are a seasoned frontend engineer who owns the critical user journeys that convert trial users into loyal paying customers within Close. You own the end to end implementation of growth oriented features spanning onboarding, activation, billing and checkout experiences that directly impact revenue and retention. You collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate hypotheses into production ready interfaces that can be measured and iterated upon quickly. You leverage your deep knowledge of React and modern web technologies to build AI powered interactions that feel fast, reliable and human centered. You are responsible for ensuring that every new surface in the application is aligned with experimentation goals and supports a clear path to learning and improvement. You contribute to the strategic direction of the frontend platform while shipping features in short cycles that enable the growth team to move fast. You help maintain the quality and reliability of our design system and ensure consistency across all customer facing web experiences.

What you'll do
Implement and iterate on onboarding flows, activation checklists, and billing experiences that drive conversion and reduce churn using data informed decisions.
Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate experiment hypotheses into production grade user interfaces that are testable and measurable.
Build AI powered features and agent workflows using modern frontend patterns, ensuring smooth streaming states, error handling, and user trust in automated suggestions.
Create reusable components and patterns inside our design system, contributing to Storybook and ensuring consistency, accessibility, and performance across the product.
Instrument detailed analytics and funnel tracking in collaboration with data teams to capture the right events and support rigorous experimentation.
Partner with backend engineers to consume REST and GraphQL APIs effectively, shaping frontend data requirements and improving contract reliability.
Optimize frontend performance for near real time interactions, leveraging route based code splitting, skeleton UIs, and efficient state management strategies.
Maintain and evolve our testing strategy using Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and visual regression tools to ensure high quality releases.
Work across multiple teams over time, taking ownership of diverse problems and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast moving growth environment.
Champion open source practices by contributing back to internal tools and external projects, sharing knowledge through documentation and public facing artifacts.
Requirements
8+ years of professional frontend experience shipping products used by real customers in production environments.
Strong proficiency in React, including hooks, state management patterns, and performance optimization techniques for complex user interfaces.
Solid understanding of modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and module bundlers such as Vite, along with experience targeting current and modern browsers.
Experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries, with a portfolio that demonstrates thoughtful UI/UX decisions.
Deep familiarity with experimentation principles, including metric definition, funnel analysis, and designing interfaces that support reliable data capture.
Proven track record of working with B2B sales software, CRMs, or similar complex business tools, understanding the unique workflows and user needs involved.
Comfortable working with backend APIs, including REST and GraphQL, and collaborating effectively with API and backend engineers.
Strong debugging and problem solving skills, with experience in browser developer tools, logging, and diagnosing production issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical tradeoffs to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
Hands on experience implementing AI powered interfaces in production, with examples of shipped LLM backed features and an understanding of reliability tradeoffs.
Contributions to open source projects or public repositories that demonstrate engineering craftsmanship and impact.
Experience working with analytics platforms such as Amplitude, including implementation side work that connects product events to business outcomes.
Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure used to host modern web applications at scale.
Understanding of real time communication technologies such as WebSockets and WebRTC, and how they enhance collaborative and agent centric workflows.
Practical notes
This role is full time and remote within the United States.
There may be limited travel requirements for team gatherings or offsite meetings.
