About the role
This position focuses on expanding Clipboard's reach within rural communities across the U.S. You will identify new business prospects, cultivate connections with leaders at Long-Term Care facilities, secure new partnerships, and guide them in adopting our platform. The role requires a self-driven individual who thrives on building trust and solving operational challenges for clients in diverse and often underserved markets. You will act as the primary point of contact, translating the value of Clipboard into clear outcomes for facility teams and residents. Success in this position depends on your ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in the field. You will be expected to represent Clipboard professionally, ensuring that every interaction reinforces our commitment to quality and partnership. This is a critical role in driving adoption and growth in key territories where personal relationships are central to success.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Find, present to, and sign new Long-Term Care facility partners using a mix of remote outreach and in-person engagement.
- Travel about one week each month to rural areas for facility visits, client meetings, and market growth initiatives.
- Establish rapport with facility administrators, clinical leads, operators, and other key decision-makers.
- Generate new demand in markets where Clipboard may have limited brand recognition or an initial presence.
- Plan travel efficiently to maximize the number and quality of facility visits in each region.
- Understand the Long-Term Care sector, our clients' operational hurdles, and the competitive landscape.
- Work with internal departments to ensure new clients have a positive onboarding experience and successful platform adoption.
- Keep CRM records accurate for pipeline, activities, and opportunities.
- Manage your assigned territory and meet new business revenue targets.
- Identify expansion opportunities within existing client accounts through relationship deepening.
- Coordinate with product and support teams to relay feedback that can improve our offering for rural providers.
- Conduct post-visit debriefs to refine messaging and address barriers encountered during the sales process.
- Leverage data and insights to prioritize high-potential facilities and tailor outreach strategies accordingly.
- Serve as a voice for the customer internally to influence product enhancements and go-to-market decisions.
- Maintain a disciplined pipeline by consistently updating opportunity stages and forecasting accurately.
Requirements
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with both clinical and business stakeholders.
- Comfort initiating conversations, visiting facilities, and building connections face-to-face.
- Willingness to travel approximately one week per month, including overnight stays in rural communities.
- Demonstrates curiosity, persistence, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach.
- Ability to create new business opportunities independently.
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage your schedule, territory, travel, and sales pipeline autonomously.
- Ability to work effectively remotely while maintaining high accountability for results.
- Experience in B2B sales, business development, healthcare, staffing, hospitality, or a similar relationship-focused field.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet transportation needs for regional facility visits.
