What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment pipelines for ground segment applications, ensuring integration with satellite systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers to optimize code for performance and reliability in a cloud-based environment.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, implementing solutions to enhance system uptime and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible to ensure consistent environments across development, testing, and production.
• Work closely with security teams to implement best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards for data protection and system security.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for critical systems and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular system audits and performance reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical insights for new projects and features.
• Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to create a knowledge base for future reference and team training.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our ground segment capabilities.
• Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members, sharing your expertise in DevOps practices and tools.
• Engage in regular code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of team development practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps or systems engineering role, preferably within the aerospace or telecommunications sectors.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including knowledge of their services and deployment models.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI to automate testing and deployment processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack for system performance analysis.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols relevant to satellite communication systems.

Nice to have

• Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with satellite ground segment operations or related technologies.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira or Trello.
