About the role

Bamboohr is seeking an experienced SAP BRIM SOM Functional Consultant to join their organization in a full-time capacity. This role centers on the SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management platform, with a particular emphasis on the Sales and Operations module. The consultant will be tasked with configuring, tailoring, and maintaining BRIM SOM functionality to support complex billing and revenue management operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SAP BRIM processes and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver effective system solutions.

What you'll do

Analyze and document business requirements related to billing, pricing, and revenue management processes within the SAP BRIM environment.

Configure and customize SAP BRIM SOM modules to ensure they align with organizational workflows, policies, and industry standards.

Design and build comprehensive billing solutions that enable accurate revenue recognition, invoicing, and payment processing across multiple business units and regions.

Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, sales, operations, and IT to identify opportunities for process optimization.

Develop and maintain detailed functional specifications and technical documentation for all BRIM SOM configuration activities.

Execute unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to validate system changes and confirm data accuracy.

Guide BRIM SOM projects through the full lifecycle, from initial discovery and scoping through deployment and stabilization.

Diagnose and resolve functional issues related to billing cycles, pricing models, revenue recognition, and account management.

Deliver hands-on training sessions and create reference materials to help end users navigate SAP BRIM SOM effectively.

Contribute to system upgrade planning and enhancement initiatives to ensure the BRIM platform remains aligned with business needs.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of hands-on experience as a functional consultant working with SAP BRIM or a comparable billing solution.

Demonstrated knowledge of SAP SOM (Sales and Operations) configuration, customization, and integration within the broader BRIM landscape.

Solid understanding of billing and revenue management methodologies as applied in enterprise, mid-market, or corporate environments.

Proven ability to collect, analyze, and document business requirements and then translate those requirements into actionable system configurations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical teams, project managers, and business stakeholders.

Comfort with traveling to client locations or working on-site when project scope and delivery timelines require physical presence.

Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment where multiple client engagements may occur simultaneously.

Familiarity with billing compliance standards and regulatory considerations relevant to revenue recognition and invoicing workflows.

Nice to have

Exposure to SAP HANA or SAP S/4HANA billing and revenue management modules and their associated configuration tools.

Hands-on experience integrating BRIM with other SAP modules such as Financials, Controlling, or Sales and Distribution.

Understanding of tax calculation rules, withholding tax, and regulatory compliance as they apply to billing and invoicing systems.

Holding an SAP certification in BRIM or a related SAP certification track that validates your functional expertise and domain knowledge.

Skills & tools

SAP BRIM suite including Billing, Revenue Recognition, and Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable components.

SAP SOM module configuration, pricing procedure setup, and billing document management capabilities.

SAP GUI and SAP Fiori for system navigation, transaction execution, and reporting within the SAP environment.

Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for documentation, analysis, and presentation deliverables.

SQL and database query skills for validating billing data, checking transaction tables, and troubleshooting data issues.

SAP workflow configuration and approval management tools for setting up automated billing and release processes.
