Key facts
What you'll do
- Assist in the coordination of development projects from conception through to production, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
- Collaborate with writers, producers, and other creative personnel to gather and organize project materials, including scripts, treatments, and pitch documents.
- Maintain comprehensive databases of project submissions, development status, and relevant industry contacts to streamline communication and project tracking.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, notes, and follow-up action items to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, audience preferences, and competitive analysis that will inform project development decisions.
- Support the development team in preparing presentations and pitches for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all materials are polished and professional.
- Assist in the organization and execution of development meetings, workshops, and brainstorming sessions, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Monitor project budgets and schedules, providing regular updates to the development team and flagging any potential issues or delays.
- Help coordinate the submission of materials to networks and platforms, ensuring compliance with their specific requirements and deadlines.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, including agents, writers, and production companies, to facilitate collaboration and networking opportunities.
- Participate in creative discussions and brainstorming sessions, contributing ideas and insights that align with Cineflix's vision and goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies that could impact content development and distribution strategies.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Film, Television, Communications, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a development or production role within the media or entertainment industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with the television and film production process, including script development and pitching.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Nice to have
- Experience with content development for digital platforms, including streaming services and social media.
- Knowledge of industry-standard software such as Final Draft, Movie Magic Scheduling, or similar tools.
- Previous experience in a creative role, such as writing, producing, or directing, is a plus.
- A strong network of contacts within the television and film industry.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
